The Walt Disney Company has acquired Lucasfilm and its subsidiaries, including its LucasArts video gaming division, in a deal that's valued at $4.05 billion.
"For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next," George Lucas said in the announcement. "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime."

Good morning, Shack.
For those slightly confused by the name, don't be. This is still your Morning Keefinated, just rebranded for the folks who haven't yet started visiting Chatty and may not understand the history, but in the end, it's the same old stuff, same wrapper, same owner, but now with a word people will recognize.
I'm going to kick things off by telling you the tale of two interviews.

If you read our E3 preview of Star Wars 1313, then you'll get a pretty good feel for what's in this trailer just released for Gamescom 2012. The footage is taken almost entirely from the showing we had behind closed doors back in June.
There are some good battle scenes, and great graphics, but not much actual gameplay. If you want gameplay, then this video would probably be more appropriate. Either way, the action is still pretty intense.

Hyperviolence was all the rage at this year's E3. However, only one hyperviolent game could take the crown. The Game Critics Awards have finally been determined, and Naughty Dog has come on top with The Last of Us. Its strong performance pushed PS3 to the top of the heap, with PS3 as the most-winning platform. Sony Computer Entertainment is the most-winning publisher as well, with 7 awards.

QUICKTAKE: LucasArts' next foray into the Star Wars universe is bringing together experts from the LucasFilm family of companies to create the gritty, seedy underworld of level 1313 on Coruscant. Players will take on the role of a bounty hunter in the underground metropolis where there are no Jedi and there is no Force. For the first time, a LucasArts game will deal with a mature theme with more sinister characters and more shades of grey. However you spin it, the game should have plenty of action.

After the genuine thrills of Kinect Star Wars, LucasArts has a long way to boldly go to win back fans who would've adored dancing as Han Solo when they were a child but now demand maturity from their favourite young adult entertainment franchise. Star Wars 1313 is a stab at this, and three short gameplay trailers have come out of E3 to show its take on bounty-hunting.

There's a new Star Wars game coming, and as expected, it's dubbed 1313. On the latest episode of GameTrailers TV, Dominic Robilliard, creative director of the project, described it as a game where you play a bounty hunter in the most dangerous part of the galaxy far, far away--an area beneath the surface of Coruscant called 1313.
