The second paid-DLC character for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift has been announced by developer Arc System Works at a fan event in Japan (via Andriasang).
The character is Valkenhayn R. Hellsing, who is character Rachel's butler in the game's story. No availability or pricing has been announced, but Valkenhayn is expected to cost the same as the recently released Makoto, who cost $8. Read more »

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is an update to Arc System Works' previous 2D fighting game, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, which itself was the spiritual successor to the Guilty Gear franchise created by the same team. In this package, you're going to get new characters (some included, some as DLC), new balance, and a whole mess of tutorials and challenges aimed at teaching this fairly confusing fighting game to new players.

I'm working on my review of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift and I was worried that there would be no one online to test out multiplayer. Then, I remembered the game is out in Japan and promptly got my face melted by ridiculousness. Those players are really good.

With all of the attention on Street Fighter IV last year, many gamers missed out on a little gem from Arc System Works and Aksys Games: BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger (BB:CT). The spiritual successor to Arc's awesome Guilty Gear franchise, BB:CT offered a different flavor of fighting.Later this month, Aksys will release BB: Continuum Shift, the revision to the original game complete with balance tweaks, new characters, and a greatly expanded tutorial set.

Mega-publisher Electronic Arts has issued a breakdown of the games it will display next week at E3 2010, offering new release dates and windows for a few titles in the process.
RISK: Factions, the downloadable Xbox 360-exclusive revamp of the classic board game, will arrive on June 23, 2010.
Meanwhile, EA SPORTS NBA JAM--a Wii exclusive--will hit in October alongside the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of the recently renamed NBA ELITE 11. Read more »

The two expansions for Grand Theft Auto IV hit PC and PlayStation 3 on April 13, leading developer Rockstar to celebrate the only way it knows how: with a brand new trailer.
As with their earlier Xbox 360 debut, "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" will be available to existing Grand Theft Auto IV owners as premium-priced downloadable content. A standalone retail bundle, dubbed Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, will also be available, enabling the two to be played without a copy of GTA IV. Read more »

Much like the initial PC release of Grand Theft Auto IV, those that buy the two expansions in either downloadable or standalone retail form will be able to craft and upload short films of their explots thanks to the PC-exclusive Video Editor funtionality.

A host of exciting changes could potentially be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Arc System Works' fighting game BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.
The updated version of the original game has been confirmed for a US console release this summer. GameStop is currently taking pre-orders for the game, which it says will be released on July 20, 2010 for $40.00. I've asked publisher Aksys Games about the validity of this date and price, but have not heard back at this time. Read more »
