Following up on the initial screenshots and debut trailer, Sega has released more than 30 new screenshots from Sonic Team's Sonic and the Black Knight. Inspired by the tales of King Arthur, the Sonic-starring swordplay-oriented title hits Wii in spring 2009.

Accompanying those earlier screenshots, Sega has released the first trailer from Sonic Team's sword-tastic effort Sonic and the Black Knight, due out on Wii next spring.

Following the official announcement of Sonic and the Black Knight (Wii), publisher Sega has provided screenshots of the Sonic Team-developed, King Arthur-inspired game due out next spring.

Sega today announced Sonic and the Black Knight, a Wii-exclusive action title that throws the iconic blue speedster into medieval times and arms him with a sword.

Slated to arrive in spring 2009, the Sonic Team-developed effort is said to mark the second release in the Sonic Storybook Series, which began with the Wii-exclusive Sonic and the Secret Rings.

Whereas Sonic and the Secret Rings was based off the tales of Arabian Nights, the Black Knight is inspired by the fabled adventures of King Arthur. A Sonic game due out this fall, Sonic Unleashed, turns the mascot into a stretchy grey werewolf at points. Read more »
