Sony may be looking to close its first-party developer Zipper Interactive, maker of the SOCOM series and MAG. According to the rumor, the studio is already in the process of being shut down, though Sony has yet to issue an official comment either refuting or denying the mounting speculation.

The finally released SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3, Slant Six's portable shooter with a not-so-portable name, requires players to complete a unique online registration via the PlayStation Network in order to access its online gameplay components.
All UMD copies of the game are packaged with a voucher for the activation and digitally-download versions of the game will register automatically when downloaded. Gamers who pick up a used copy of the game will also be able to download a $20 PSN entitlement voucher for access to online play. Read more »

It's been a bumpy ride for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3, but after two delays, Slant Six's shooter is finally complete and sporting a solid release date.
That date, February 16, will see the PSP action game hit North American retailers in physical UMD form and the online PlayStation Store as a digital download. Read more »

Portable squad shooter SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3 (PSP) has been delayed once again, meaning that the game has now received as many release dates as this particular branch of the militaristic franchise has seen entries.
Of course, exactly when that new date is remains unclear, with Sony telling Destructoid that Slant Six's latest will receive "a new release date in the coming weeks." Read more »

Slant Six's squad shooter sequel SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3 (PSP), once due this year, is now slated to hit North American shops on January 12, 2010.
The developer had revealed a November 24 release date weeks ago, though the announcement was rather quickly removed with no explanation. Read more »
