Rumor: Sony shutting down SOCOM developer

Sony may be looking to close its first-party developer Zipper Interactive, maker of the SOCOM series and MAG. According to the rumor, the studio is already in the process of being shut down, though Sony has yet to issue an official comment either refuting or denying the mounting speculation.

A new downloadable map pack for SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS2) and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault has been released as a free-of-charge download, SOCOM community manager David Brothers revealed today .

Containing SOCOM and SOCOM II maps Crossroads, Fishhook, Frostfire and Guidance, the new map pack is compatible with both SOCOM 3 as well as Combined Assault. Read more »
