Electronic Arts has released Skate It for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game will run on the iPad, though it isn't an iPad native app.
Skate It will run you a cool $6.99 and utilizes the series' "Flick It" control scheme along with accelerometer controls for steering. A replay feature is included as well as the ability to listen to your own music during gameplay. Read more »

EA Black Box and Montreal's Skate It (Wii, DS) will grind into North American retailers on November 19, publisher and studio owner Electronic Arts announced today.
The Wii edition of the trick-centric skateboarding game sports motion-based controls, complete with optional support for the Wii Balance Board, while the Nintendo DS version relies upon stylus controls. Read more »

EA Black Box has long promised a skateboarding game that uses the Balance Board accessory for Nintendo's Wii. The studio is delivering with Skate It, the Wii and Nintendo DS spin-off of EA's skateboarding series.
In the video below, two developers explain how the optional Balance Board works with the game and warn gamers not to jump on it, or "bad things will happen." Read more »

Apparently eager to participate in the spelling bee, EA Black Box has provided a a new trailer of Skate It. An offshoot from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 skating series, Skate It debuts on the Wii and Nintendo DS this fall.
The Wii version, depicted above and below, makes use of the Wii Remote controller and also supports the Balance Board accessory used by Wii Fit for realistic skating action. Read more »

Publisher Electronic Arts submitted the following trailer of the EA Black Box's Skate It (Wii, NDS), showing the console edition of the title in action.
Skate It's Wii appearance features a heavy emphasis on the Wii Remote's motion controls, and also makes use of the recently released Wii Balance Board. Both games will hit retailer shelves this fall.

At the EA Spring Break press event in San Francisco, we had a chance to give EA Black Box's motion-centric Skate It a test run in both its Wii and Nintendo DS incarnations.
While we were grinding our faces into the pavement, we also managed to chat up the designers on bringing the Skate franchise to Nintendo's systems and the development of the new control schemes.

Following yesterday's initial screenshots, Electronic Arts has sent out more media from Skate It, the skateboarding game in development for Wii and Nintendo DS. There are Wii and DS screenshots, and for both platforms we also have videos focused on game controls.

Electronic Arts has announced that it is developing a direct sequel to EA Black Box's skateboarding title Skate (PS3, X360), referred to as simply Skate 2, along with separate Wii and Nintendo DS entries titled Skate It.
The Wii and Nintendo DS iterations of the series (both pictured below) are due out later this year. The Nintendo DS version will use the portable's touch screen to control tricks. Read more »
