Some say Weekend Confirmed sounds like a morning show and this week it truly is as we recorded early to help Jeff get a head start on his journey down to San Diego for Comic-Con. With Garnett and Brian up early too, the caffeine-fueled show gets started with a flashback as World of Warcraft has gotten its clutches back around one of the guys. There's also a new perspective on DeathSpank, Singularity, and this week's Cannata-ford a New Game by unanimous decision: Alien Swarm. Your feedback on how value figures into your assessment of a game came across loud and clear and it provides the springboard to lead into the Warning. This week it's a look at some of the crew's favorite games growing up and "next-gen" faces a reckoning. June's NPD sales figures lead the news in the Front Page and Brian also has a complete report from EA's summer studio showcase.

It's a holiday weekend in the US and Weekend Confirmed celebrates with a massive show that includes the debut appearance of Shane Bettenhausen. He slips right back into form with Garnett, Brian, and Jeff and they launch into Whatcha Been Playin with a quick catch up on Final Fantasy 13 and few other releases from earlier this year before moving on to current games like Singularity, Crackdown 2, and Puzzle Quest 2. The group tackles the PlayStation Network Plus offering and getting the right pace to creating sequels in the Warning, along with some of your responses to last week's show. And has a full Front Page to close things out with everything from the opening of the WoW: Cataclysm beta to what may be up with Lionhead's Milo project, and a quick Starcraft 2 features round-up. Remember to hit the official show story comments to join the conversation.

A new Singularity trailer shows how the stylish high-tech, time-twisting glove in Raven's shooter has an 'Impulse' function to shove, phase-shift or just plain 'splode foolish foes.

These new screenshots for Raven's original shooter Singularity aren't very kind to our friend Generic Soldier. He has a tough time of it in any game, but these pictures must have been taken on a particularly bad day for him.
