Developer Petroglyph and publisher UTV Games "have reached a mutual agreement to resolve pending litigation issues" in regards to their upcoming free-to-play micro-transactional online game Mytheon, dating the action-RPG for launch on July 13.
Currently in open beta, Mytheon marks the first action-RPG from Petroglyph, a studio founded by Command and Conquer veterans from Westwood and known for such strategy games as Universe at War and Star Wars: Empire at War. Read more »

Petroglyph Games' PC multiplayer action RPG Mytheon enters open beta today, as promised, with a 41MB client available from your friendly neighbourhood FileShack.
The Panzer General: Allied Assault and Star Wars: Empire at War developer's first foray into the RPG genre is set in a world inspired by ancient Greek mythology, with three classes who must slay such fantastical monsters as gorgons and minotaurs for gold and items concealed about their person. Mytheon, the Petroglyph-developed "online, multiplayer Action/RPG with strategic game play," will enter its first open beta phase at the end of April. Those seeking to challenge mythological gods and define their own fates need wait only a little longer.
Interested parties can still register for the closed beta on the official Mytheon site, though anyone will be able to register for guaranteed access to the open beta once April 28 rolls around. During the open-beta period, cash shop items will be available to sample for the first time, and players will periodically receive batches of Mytheon Coins that may be redeemed in said cash shops. Now available on FileShack is an 872MB demo of Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper, allowing you to sample the latest PC adventure game out of Frogwares.
As the game's title implies, it pits one of the world's most famed detectives against one of history's most notorious killers. It's the fifth of Frogwares' Holmes games, which have seen the old-timey gentleman face off against such foes as a mummy and Cthulu. Read more »

Having already transcended the boundaries of fact and fiction, Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper are no longer bound by platform either, as the once PC exclusive adventure Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper is now being ported to Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 rendition is being handled by Spiders Games. As the name implies, the forthcoming release pits one of the world's most famed detectives against one of history's most notorious serial killers--a true showdown for the ages. Read more »

Independent developer Petroglyph, best known for RTS titles Universe at War and Star Wars: Empire at War, and publisher True Games Interactive today unveiled Mytheon, the free-to-play PC strategy game the duo initially announced back in April.
In lieu of a one-time purchase or a subscription fee, the customization-heavy title will be supported by micro-transactions. The extent of these transactions was not specified. Read more »

Apparently unaffected by his recent encounter with H.P. Lovecraft's mythical beast Cthulhu, Sherlock Holmes is gearing up for his fifth Frogwares Studio-developed PC adventure: Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper. Check out the screenshots below.
