If you missed 5th Cell's excellent Scribblenauts series on the DS, don't fret! The iOS-exclusive "Scribblenauts Remix" is now available for your iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad. The "Remix" includes 40 of the most popular levels from the DS game and sequel, plus an additional 10 levels exclusive to the iOS re-release.
For the uninitiated, Scribblenauts is a unique puzzle game that lets you write almost any word to come up with inventive solutions. For example, you can write "angry robot" or "giant baby" to solve the game's many challenges.

Scribblenauts charmed us when it debuted at E3 in 2009, and now that it's been translated to Japanese, it's become a critical darling there as well. Tokyo Game Show organizer CESA announced that the game won the "Designers Award," which is chosen by a panel of game designers.
This marks the second year of the award, and both have gone to non-Japanese games. The first went to last year's Heavy Rain.

An as-yet-untitled sequel to 5TH Cell's quirky Nintendo DS puzzler Scribblenauts is to be released in fall 2010, publisher Warner Bros Interactive confirmed this morning.
As with the original, the sequel is coming to Nintendo DS and is being developed by 5TH Cell. But whereas the original had players typing in nouns to summon objects, the sequel allows them to modify summoned objects through the use of ...adjectives. Read more »

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) announced the winners for the 13th annual Interactive Achievement Awards yesterday. Developer Naughty Dog's cinematic action-adventure, Uncharted 2, was the undisputed star of the show, running away with ten different awards.
The Jay Mohr-hosted event, held at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas during the DICE Summit, highlighted the most impressive achievements in game development in 2009, as decided by industry peers. Read more »

This trailer does its best to explain the unique concept of Scribblenauts, in which players type words to summon objects that will help them solve puzzles or overcome obstacles. It also makes you think really hard about the benefits of glasses over a sniper rifle.
Packing robot dinosaurs, nukes and everything in between (so long as it's not a copyrighted phrase), 5TH Cell's action-puzzler hits Nintendo DS on September 15. Read more »

5TH Cell's extremely experimental "emergent puzzle action" game Scribblenauts will arrive in Nintendo DS form on September 15, publisher Warner Bros. has revealed.
The game sees players typing in words to summon objects that will help them overcome puzzles and obstacles, such as "steak" or "baby" to attract a lion. It gets far crazier than that, of course, and while the game doesn't include copyrighted terms, it packs a hefty wallop of random objects and memes, like "long cat" and "keyboard cat." Read more »
