In the wake of Kalypso's purchase of a "majority of licenses and assets" from bankrupt developer Ascaron and creation of a new studio with 15 of its former staffers, Ascaron has confirmed that it is still at work on the PC expansion for its action-RPG Sacred 2.
"In a nutshell, the Addon is not affected by anything and will come as planned," Ascaron's Anca Adelina Finta wrote on the company's forums after the license deal was revealed in early June. The news was overlooked by many due to the chaos of E3, with Kalypso's recent naming of the new studio bringing the details to light. Read more »

Cooperative hack-and-slash action comes to consoles next week with Ascaron's Diablo-esque title Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. For those interested in the prospect, the console versions of the fantasy game's multiplayer mode support up to four players online and two offline.
Sacred 2 is already out on PC, with a free demo to try. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions ship May 12. Read more »

European publisher and Sacred series developer Ascaron Entertainment has filed for bankruptcy protection and is now in "negotiations with several well-known interested parties to discuss a positive takeover," the company has revealed.
"After four years developing Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, an extended development delay made it necessary for Ascaron to go into administration," it explained, noting that its development team is currently working on a Sacred 2 PC expansion and Sacred 3. Read more »

The Xbox 360 version of Ascaron Entertainment's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel has gone gold and will be released on May 12, publisher cdv Software has announced.
The multiplayer-toting action RPG, released on PC last November, features a massive open world to traverse riding mounts, pummelling native fantastical monsters for loot. Read more »

Owners of Ascaron's PC action-RPG Sacred 2--due in North America on November 11--will be able to share the full game with friends and family for one calendar day.
Copies purchased via retail and digital download will both sport the functionality, which allows recipients to access the full game in both LAN and single-player modes, but locks off online multiplayer component. After that one day, those players will be able to unlock the game through an online purchase. Read more »

A pre-rendered trailer has arrived for Ascaron Entertainment's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (PC, 360, PS3), showing a slew of heroes taking on a skeletal army using a mix of futuristic weaponry and fantastic magic.
The PC version of the action-RPG has gone gold and is due to arrive November 11, but the Xbox 360 and PlayStation iterations will have to wait for February 17 of next year. For those who dislike waiting, a PC demo is available now on FileShack. Read more »

Atari has announced that it will distribute Ascaron Entertainment's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel in North America, with the PC version slated to arrive on November 11, followed by PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 iterations on February 17, 2009.
The oft-delayed multiplayer-oriented action-RPG was originally slated to hit retailers in early 2008, but was later delayed into September so that the team could "realize all the development plans." Both the console and PC releases will sport online co-op, with the console versions also packing offline two-player co-op. Read more »

A demo is now available for the PC version of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, the action RPG from Ascaron Entertainment.The 1.71GB download includes several quests, one of the game's six player characters, and the game's High Elf region.
Sacred 2: Fall Angel will be released this November for the PC, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ports following in 2009.

German developer Ascaron Entertainment today announced the development of a PlayStation 3 edition of its upcoming multiplayer-oriented RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. Screenshots of the new version were also provided.
Sacred 2's PS3 incarnation joins the previously announced PC and Xbox 360 versions of the title. In addition to online multiplayer modes via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, Sacred 2 also features shared-screen cooperative play for two players on the same console. Read more »

The release of Ascaron Entertainment's multiplayer-oriented action-RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel has been delayed until September 2008. In development for both PC and Xbox 360, the game was previously set to hit stores in the first quarter of 2008.
"An extension of the development process was necessary in order to ensure that we realize all the development plans and ship both PC and Xbox 360 versions with the best possible quality and stability," Ascaron wrote on the game's official site. Read more »
