Musical lady Stevie Nicks is the star of next week's batch of Rock Band 3 downloadable content, developer Harmonix has announced. Tracks from both her time with Fleetwood Mac and her solo work will be added to the rhythm game.
Arriving for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii on April 12, the tracks will cost $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points; 200 Wii Points) a pop. You can also get the whole lot for $9.99 (800 MS Points; 1,000 Wii Points) in a track pack. Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions will be available for the songs marked with an X, at the price of 99¢ each. Read more »

Rockers on a budget will be happy to learn that the price of Rock Band 3 has been reduced to $20. Harmonix made the announcement yesterday, revealing the cut will hit the lone disc edition of the game on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. Read more »

Joy Division will make their Rock Band 3 debut next week when the seminal 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' launches as downloadable content, developer Harmonix has announced announced.

Beginning March 22, more tracks from single-songwriter Billy Joel are coming to Rock Band 3. The Piano Man, as he's known in the music world, (or multimillionaire who loves to do things for spite as he's known in the gaming world) lends six of his legendary tunes to the network for your fake piano tickling pleasure.
Previously, Harmonix added twelve of Joel's hits to its Rock Band DLC stockpile. Read more »

Rock Band 3 is getting a fresh dose of The Police next week, along with a song each from OK Go and War. The Police's widely misunderstood stalking epic "Every Breath You Take" is a standout from the band's 1983 album Synchronicity, and it includes Pro and Bass upgrades to boot. Of course, "Spill the Wine" is a perfect addition for all those times you play Rock Band after getting a little tipsy.
The songs will be available for $1.99 each, with Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for 99 cents for "Every Breath You Take." The three others are just the standard versions this week. Read more »

Musicians bringing their tracks to the Rock Band Network are now able to take advantage of fancy Rock Band 3 features including keys and harmonies, thanks to an update which launched today.
The Rock Band Network 2.0 update brings support for Keys, Pro Keys and vocal harmonies to RBN tracks. Developer Harmonix explains that it also "lets authors customize song practice sections and gives authors greater flexibility with camera, lights, focus, and post-processing to make the greatest visuals possible." Next week's Rock Band 3 DLC brings four newly-remastered songs from Nine Inch Nails' debut (and arguably best) album, Pretty Hate Machine, along with some Pro-Guitar upgrades for eleven previously-released tracks from the Rock Band music library. The new tracks and upgrades are scheduled to be available on March 1.
As usual, the four new tracks featuring Trent Reznor's special brand of industrial love can be obtained for $1.99 apiece (on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii), or altogether in the "Pretty Hate Pack 01," which goes for $6.99. Read more »

Rock Band 3 developer Harmonix has announced that it'll be ringing in Valentine's Day--also known as Oh What's the Point, I Give up, This Is Stupid Anyway Day--with a pack of heart-breaking downloadable content duets for the rhythm game.

An undisclosed number of full-time Harmonix employees were laid off today, Joystiq reports. The downsizing was to bring the company "into alignment with our current product development plans." Reportedly 12-15% of the 240-person staff has been affected by the layoffs.
Sources say this won't impact future projects or current downloadable content plans for Rock Band 3 and Dance Central. Currently, we know Harmonix is working on an unnamed 3DS game, but its other future plans are unknown. Read more »

An octet of tracks from reggae superstar Bob Marley will make up this week's batch of Rock Band 3 downloadable content, developer Harmonix has announced, including 'Burnin' and Lootin',' 'Kaya' and 'Them Belly Full (But We Hungry).'
The songs will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii on February 6. One song will cost you $2 (160 Microsoft Points; 200 Wii Points), while the full track pack will be $13.49 (1080 MS Points, 1350 Wii Points). Only one track, 'Them Belly Full,' will receive a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade, which costs $0.99. Read more »

The Clash's seminal 1979 punk record 'London Calling' will be available in its entirety for all your rocking needs in Rock Band 3 this week, developer Harmonix announced, when the remaining eighteen tracks are released as downloadable content.
Coupled with 'Train in Vain,' which was released separately as DLC back in 2008, they'll form the full album. The eighteen new releases will be out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii on February 1, priced at $2 (160 Microsoft Points; 200 Wii Points) per song or $20 (1,600 MSP; 2,000 WP) for the lot. The ever-glamorous David Bowie is getting another five-song batch added to the Rock Band 3 downloadable music catalog next week. The tracks represent a pretty good mix of classic Bowie tunes, but given the size of his music catalog, there are probably more than a handful of folks (myself included) who'd appreciate an album-sized best-of DLC pack.
