Risk: Factions to conquer Facebook with special weapons

It wasn't long ago that EA brought the classic board game of Risk to consoles and PC in the form of Risk: Factions. At its recent summer showcase, the publisher announced that it's bringing a version of the game to Facebook sometime this summer.

As one would expect, the version of Risk: Factions on Facebook will include competitive multiplayer, but will differ from previous iterations of the game in that each faction will have access to "special abilities" to help them turn the tide of battle. Zombies, for instance, will gain access to a special weapon that makes them "better brain eaters," and humans will have access to a special attack boost, as well. Read more »

Risk: Factions comes to PC

EA released the Stainless Games re-imagining of the classic board game, Risk: Factions, on the PC yesterday. The title has already spent several months on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but it's available now through Steam for $9.99.

Factions puts its own spin on the Risk formula by introducing new objective modes, terrain benefits, and new maps besides the standard World. Players who prefer their Risk untarnished by new ideas can play the Classic mode, while Factions mode weaves a zany cartoon story around the action. If you've ever been playing Risk and thought to yourself, "if only Zombies were fighting Robots," this is your game.
