Back in 2006, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 was a breath of simulated fresh air in a world overflowing with unoriginal World War II FPSs. Five years later, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad will hopefully be similarly refreshing as we drown in a torrent of tedious, faux-realistic, near-future shooters. Developer Tripwire Interactive announced yesterday that the sequel will be released for PC on August 30, priced at $39.99

Red Orchestra creator Tripwire Interactive is seeking the modding community's best and brightest to create an expansion pack for its upcoming PC World War 2 shooter sequel Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, the indie developer has announced.
The 'Rising Storm' expansion will take RO2 to sunnier climes with the 1942-1945 Pacific Theatre conflict between the USA and Japan. Both US and Japanese campaigns are available, complete with co-op support, as well as competitive multiplayer. Read more »

After a hasty announcement, Tripwire has revealed further details on campaigns and multiplayer in its realistic tactical WW2 shooter Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad.
Multiplayer will be expanded with several new modes, plus persistent stat tracking and player progression to unlock weapons and items--ultimately becoming a visually-distinct 'Hero' who will "inspire troops around them and cause fear in their enemies." Read more »

Developer Tripwire Interactive has now officially announced Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad, a sequel to the mod-turned-game Red Orchestra: Osfront 41-45.
Following in the footsteps of the original Red Orchestra, Heroes of Stalingrad will be a tactical FPS that emphasizes "accuracy and detail." As the title suggests, the sequel will focus on the Battle of Stalingrad and related confrontations. Read more »

Tripwire Interactive--developer of Killing Floor and Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45--has announced Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad in a barebones low-key statement.
Word of the game leaked out with a preview in the latest issue of PC Gamer, earlier than Tripwire anticipated. The studio promises a proper PR effort will soon begin in earnest. Read more »
