Anyone who buys a first-run copy of Darksiders before March 7 can receive a free copy of Red Faction: Guerrilla by using the included pack-in, publisher THQ has revealed.
The "Promo Code" pack-in was included in the "initial run of the product" as a "special reward," going by the game's official site. Open to United Stated residents, the offer simply requires those that that got a "Promo Code" in their copy of Darksdiers to redeem the code on the PlayStation 3 Offer Page or Xbox 360 Offer Page by March 7, 2010. The joys of stompy walker warfare will spread to Red Faction: Guerrilla's multiplayer as part of a new 'Smasher Pack' downloadable content, Volition announced today.
Due to arrive October 1 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $5 (400 MS Points) The Smasher Pack contains eight new Wrecking Crew maps, as well as the vehicular violence of the Behemoth mode in all three walkers from the shooter's singleplayer. Read more »

PC gamers grumpy to receive Red Faction: Guerrilla three months after it hit consoles will crack a smile at IGN's report that the PC release packs oodles of extra content.
The Games for Windows Live-enabled version of Volition's open-world world-destroying shooter will include the 'Demons of the Badlands' downloadable content, the console pre-order bonus Wrecking Crew mode maps, two PC-exclusive multiplayer maps, plus six Wrecking Crew maps and the Bagman modes from the upcoming second DLC. Following up on the first downloadable expansion for Red Faction: Guerrilla, which featured some new single-player missions and story content, developer Volition has detailed the next add-on, which brings new multiplayer maps and modes.
Due out September 17, the Multiplayer Pack will deliver eight new maps and two additional modes, Bagman and Team Bagman, to those PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners willing to shell out 560 Microsoft Points ($7). No word yet if the additional content will be coming to the belated PC version of Guerrilla, now expected September 15.

A free patch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of Volition's Red Faction: Guerrilla was released today, bringing new features and fixes to the destructive shooter.
Players will be prompted to download the update when attempting to sign into their console's respective online service, with major tweaks including a new Challenge Mode, everyone getting the pre-order bonus levels, and support for the first bit of DLC. Read more »

With Red Faction: Guerilla already satisfying the urges of pyrotechnic junkies, what is left to possibly add in a DLC pack? Why, more explosions, of course.
The following trailer introduces Demons of the Badlands, an upcoming DLC pack for the sci-fi action title that takes place three years prior to the events in Guerilla.

The PC version of Volition's explosion-laden shooter Red Faction: Guerrilla will now arrive on September 15 in North America, according to publisher THQ. The international release will take place four days earlier on September 11.
Red Faction was released on consoles during the first week of June. The PC port, expected to see a delay to late summer, was originally pegged for an August 25 showing. Read more »

Digital distributor Impulse is sowing seeds of destruction by offering the first two Red Faction titles for free with PC pre-orders of Volition's shooter Red Faction: Guerrilla.
While Guerrilla focuses on demolishing constructions in the third person, 2001's Red Faction and 2002's Red Faction 2 delighted in exploding environments from a first-person perspective, complete with a terrain destruction engine. Read more »

The PC edition of Red Faction: Guerilla has been officially delayed nearly three months beyond the console release, according to publisher THQ.
Retail listings for the title had marked the PC version of the shooter for an August 25 release as early as late April. The title is currently scheduled for a June 2 release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Read more »

With the single-player demo for Red Faction: Guerrilla having been downloaded over one million times, developer Volition has revealed that a downloadable multiplayer demo will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners on May 21.
The full version of the destructive PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 action game hits June 2. Read more »
