Telltale Games has released a demo for its adventure game-tinged puzzler Puzzle Agent, a 182MB download found over on your friendly neighbourhood FileShack.
The first game in the Tales of Monkey Island dev's pilot program, the puzzle-centric game tells of a US Department of Puzzle Research investigation into the weird mid-Western town of Scoggins, where there's trouble at the President's eraser supplier. Read more »

A little more of Puzzle Agent's kooky story and quirky puzzles is revealed in an E3 trailer and screenshots for Tales of Monkey Island developer Telltale Games' adventure-puzzle title.
Arriving for PC, Mac, Wii, iPhone and iPad later this month--though it may not hit all platforms simultaneously--Puzzle Agent is the first release from Telltale's new Pilot Program, meaning it may later be continued into a full episodic series in the vein of Tales of Monkey Island and Telltale's Sam & Max games. With the month-long 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament set to kick off here on June 11, EA SPORTS--maker of the officially licensed 2010 FIFA World Cup video game--has run a simulation and declared Spain the winner.
The simulation was run "under the same conditions [all 32 teams] will face in the weeks ahead" using the same technology that powers the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game. Read more »

Providing a taste of its (potentially) one-off adventure game Puzzle Agent, developer Telltale has issued a new trailer that sees designer and writer Mark Darin explain the gnome-tastic premise alongside illustrator and "creative instigator" Graham Annable.
The first of Telltale's new program, which sees the developer crafting one-off pilots that will be continued in episode form if successful, Puzzle Agent hits PC, Mac, Wii, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad as a download in June, with PC/Mac pre-orders already open. Read more »

A few new details on Telltale's forthcoming one-off pilot "Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent" have been unleashed by the company, along with a rather snazzy pre-order deal.
As Telltale explains: "Special Agent Nelson Tethers, the sole member of the FBI's Puzzle Research division, is on his way to the icy heart of the Midwestern United States to investigate the apparent stoppage of all production at the Scoggins Erasers Company--the exclusive eraser provider for the White House." Following through on the cryptic teases involving angry gnomes and an eraser factory, developer Telltale Games has unveiled a new adventure game dubbed "Puzzle Agent."
The title marks the first of the company's new Telltale Pilot Program, it told IGN, which will see the studio experimenting with one-off pilots for "even weirder" games. Depending on a pilot's reception, Telltale may then opt to continue the series with the episodic model it has used for such games as Sam & Max and Monkey Island. Read more »

A downloadable demo of EA Sports' 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is now available to Xbox 360 owners with an Xbox Live Gold membership via Xbox Live and those with access to the PlayStation 3's European PlayStation Store.

As the World Cup only occurs once every four years, Electronic Arts has announced that it will once again be celebrating the tournament with a dedicated FIFA video game.
Hitting North America on April 27 then Europe and Asia beginning April 30, FIFA World Cup South Africa will be available for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP--providing footy fans with plenty of time to play out the possibilities before the tourney kicks off in June. Read more »
