The PixelJunk games are among the most critically-acclaimed titles available on the PlayStation Network. Spanning a variety of art styles and gameplay genres, the franchise has managed to garner quite the fan base over five years.
To celebrate, developer Q-Games is having an "anniversary sale" on the PlayStation Network starting tomorrow. For a limited time, many of the games will be available for only $1.

The weekly PlayStation Store update is here, bringing with it new PS3 and PSP offerings.
The PlayStation 3 side of things includes Q's treasure-seeking, heat-sensitive PixelJunk Shooter ($9.99), Wanako's brawler Revenge of the Wounded Dragons ($9.99), and the resurrection of Konami's arcade staple Frogger in Frogger Returns ($4.99), along with downloadable demos for Dante's Inferno, Mushroom Wars, and topatoi plus add-ons for Guitar Hero 5, Rock Band, inFamous and more. PixelJunk Shooter--previously known as PixelJunk 1-4--will hit the PlayStation Network on December 10, developer Q-Games has announced on the PlayStation.Blog.
As earlier gameplay footage demonstrates, the subterranean shooter combines arcade action with environmental puzzling based on managing various hot and cold fluids.

SCEA Santa Monica's Matt Morton took the time to record six minutes of footage from the upcoming PixelJunk Shooter during last weekend's Comic-Con. Morton explains the basics of Shooter, and notes recent changes featured in the Comic-Con build as he plays around in the colorful PSN game.

Developer Q Games today announced the official name of its upcoming downloadable title: PixelJunk Shooter.
The 2D game, previously known as PixelJunk 1-4, has players blasting through caves to release pools of lava-quenching water.
Q Games ran a public naming contest to come up with a title for 1-4, with Shooter being picked as the winner for its simple descriptive quality. Read more »
