The PixelJunk games are among the most critically-acclaimed titles available on the PlayStation Network. Spanning a variety of art styles and gameplay genres, the franchise has managed to garner quite the fan base over five years.
To celebrate, developer Q-Games is having an "anniversary sale" on the PlayStation Network starting tomorrow. For a limited time, many of the games will be available for only $1.

I'm getting ready to pack up and move my life to Los Angeles from Toronto, but before then I need to get some gaming time in. The last two games I've played at home were for review, so it would be nice to actually spend some of my personal time playing for fun.

The wheels of progress turn slowly but surely and while Release List might look a bit barebones for now, rest assured that this will have no effect upon the actual games being released next week. We'll be bouncing along merrily, better than ever, as soon as possible. As the saying goes, "there'll always be video games."

In "old Shack" we would use the Weekend Discussion post as a platform for the editors at Shacknews to discuss what games they would be enjoying over the weekend. As outlined in this Chatty post, that doesn't really work with the new format.
What we've decided to do is to bring the conversation here, to a frontpage post. This allows us to highlight Chatty on the frontpage as it was in the past and--with the link between comments on the frontpage and in Chatty--give our users a place to share their current gaming experiences. PixelJunk Shooter 2, the sequel to the well-regarded PlayStation 3 title, will be available for download in just a few weeks. The PlayStation Blog announced today that the game will hit on March 1. Like its various Pixeljunk brethren, it will be a PlayStation Network exclusive. No price was mentioned with the announcement.

E3 2010 goes into the books with a deluge of games and we dive right into the deep end of them. Shacknews's own Chris Faylor joins Garnett, Brian, and Jeff to share their experiences with XCOM, Portal 2, Bulletstorm, Child of Eden, Journey, PixelJunk Shooter 2, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, DJ Hero 2, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, LittleBIGPlanet 2, the Witcher 2, and more. N'Gai Croal also takes a turn on the microphone to examine the big trends of 3D gaming and motion control seen at the show. Q Games and Sony have announced PixelJunk Shooter 2, the follow-up to the original game released in December 2009 via the PlayStation Network.
