The PixelJunk games are among the most critically-acclaimed titles available on the PlayStation Network. Spanning a variety of art styles and gameplay genres, the franchise has managed to garner quite the fan base over five years.
To celebrate, developer Q-Games is having an "anniversary sale" on the PlayStation Network starting tomorrow. For a limited time, many of the games will be available for only $1.

In a double-dose of news from developer Q-Games, the studio has officially unveiled its next PlayStation 3 release--PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap--and confirmed that its downloadable strategy game PixelJunk Monsters PSP is to receive a physical release.
"PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap is a bit of a fan service really," studio president Dylan Cuthbert explained on the PlayStation.Blog. "We went back to the original Racers and added Trophies, but we didn't want to just stop there (just adding the bare minimum isn't really what we do). So we added a whole new feature - ghost attack." Sony has announced that PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, the enhanced handheld version of Q Games' popular PS3 tower defense game, will be available to download on the PlayStation Network this thursday.
The PlayStation blog has supplied the following TGS-sourced video, which features Q-Games president Dylan Cuthbert outlining the various upgrades applied to the PixelJunk Monsters experience in Deluxe. Read more »

Q-Games' downloadable PlayStation 3 tower defense force game PixelJunk Monsters will arrive in enhanced PSP form this fall, publisher Sony has confirmed.
Dubbed PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, the PSP version packs all of the content found in the PS3 release and its Encore add-on, along with new stages, enemies and towers. The gameplay, building and upgrading static units to fight waves of foes, remains intact. Read more »

PixelJunk Monsters, Q Games' excellent version of tower defense, will be ported to the PSP sometime in 2009, according to a recent Spike TV segment.
Q Games founder Dylan Cuthbert says that the handheld version will include content or features beyond those found in the original PlayStation Network title. Read more »
