The PixelJunk games are among the most critically-acclaimed titles available on the PlayStation Network. Spanning a variety of art styles and gameplay genres, the franchise has managed to garner quite the fan base over five years.
To celebrate, developer Q-Games is having an "anniversary sale" on the PlayStation Network starting tomorrow. For a limited time, many of the games will be available for only $1.

Q-Games' PixelJunk Eden is on its way to Steam next week. The game will cost $9.99, and will include the "Encore" expansion pack for free.
New to the PC release is the ability to warp back to your last resting position, helpful for when you take a one-minute long fall off the top of the level. Plus, you can save your progress within each garden, so you can pick up where you left off rather than restarting from the beginning.

Kyoto-based multitalented artist Baiyon, who directed the art and sound design in PixelJunk Eden, has launched a recording label named Descanso as his latest endeavor. While I couldn't get any specifics as to who from him, he did tell me that he already has a collaboration in the works with a famous game music composer.
For now, the label which will focus on techno and house music, has its first release, "in the collaborations 01" (descanso-001), available on Beatport and coming in the next day or so to iTunes. You can also get a listen on the Descanso MySpace page Read more »

GameSetWatch setup a discussion/interview between the creative forces behind three games known for their imaginative approach. Baiyon, who co-created PixelJunk Eden with the Q-Games team, sat down with Noby Noby Boy and Katamari maker Keita Takahashi to tackle a few set questions and discuss what drives their designs.
While their works are often thought of as examples of artsy games, both expressed very down to earth sensibilities. Inspiring the player's imagination came up right away but Takahashi was quick to add," I can totally understand when people are wary of pretentiousness. I'm always careful about it and I don't feel out of touch with what people are actually interested in playing." Read more »

This week's PlayStation Store update from Sony brings more downloadable content than you can shake a stick at and assorted other goodies for the PlayStation 3.

Q-Games' PixelJunk Eden arrives today on the PlayStation 3's digital storefront, along with new downloadable content for Rock Band and Soul Calibur IV.

Sony Computer Entertainment passed along a new set of screenshots for Q-Games' PixelJunk Eden (PS3), a downloadable title slated for release this summer.

Sony Computer Entertainment America just sent over a timeline for the next nine months of SCE-published games on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PSP.
The schedule confirms that many of the dates provided by SCE Europe apply to North America, such as LittleBigPlanet (PS3) in October and Killzone 2 (PS3) next February.
