The nominees for the 11th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards have been announced, meaning that we now get to see what games the international panel of industry professionals felt are in the running to be acknowledged for the greatest overall achievements over the past year. (via Gamasutra)
The Xbox Live Arcade exclusive, LIMBO, leads the charge with seven nominations, followed closely by Red Dead Redemption (six nominations) and Mass Effect 2 (five nominations). All three front-runners are in the running for GDC's Game of the Year award. Pioneer, Ambassador and Lifetime Achievement Special Awards, as well as the host of this year's awards show, have yet to be revealed. Read more »

In case you missed it, the bonus fifth map in the Bad Company 2's "Vietnam" expansion, Operation Hastings, has been unlocked for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 gamers.
Last week, PC players showed off their warfare prowess by completing the requisite 69 million team actions to unlock the fifth map in the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expansion within a matter of days. Although PS3 and Xbox 360 users did not meet the challenge (only reaching 39 and 52 million actions, respectively), DICE decided to unlock the map for all platforms. Read more »

Bungie's final Halo game is arguably its best, representing all of the lessons learned from 10 years with the franchise. The campaign tells a great story within Halo's fiction and introduces us to some of the series' best characters. Firefight returns with countless improvements over ODST's incarnation making it a full-fledged mode. Multiplayer, of course, remains the game's strongest pillar with an amazing experience out of the box for both casual and serious players along with a super-charged Forge mode and Forge World, which will ensure that user-created content continues to flow for years to come. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 developer DICE has revealed that its downloadable expansion 'Vietnam' will in fact contain five maps, not four as previously said, with the fifth map being unlocked by a community challenge.
The bonus map, a remake of 'Operation Hastings' from Battlefield: Vietnam, will be unlocked when Nam players have performed a whopping total of 69 million team actions. That's 69 million resupplies, revives, heals, spots and repairs. Read more »

[Update: 10:10] EA has announced that Vietnam will be released for PC on December 18, followed by Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases on December 21. They'll all cost $15 (1200 Microsoft Points) The company also confirmed that the free VIP Map Pack 7 will launch tomorrow, which is why you need to download 2.4GB today.

With Battlefield: Bad Company 2's downloadable expansion Vietnam launching this season, developer DICE has drafted community manager Daniel Matros to give the run-down of its features, from new maps and tanks to iron sights and flamethrowers.
Vietnam is slated for a downloadable release some time this winter on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It'll cost you $14.99 (1,200 Microsoft Points). Read more »

Fan-favourite Battlefield: Bad Company maps 'Oasis' and 'Harvest Day' are being revamped for Battlefield: Bad Company 2's upcoming multiplayer VIP Map Pack 7 downloadable content, developer DICE has revealed.
After winning a poll to find fans' most beloved Bad Company maps, the BC2 ports are tarted up with "full Destruction 2.0 (buildings collapsing and micro destruction), enhanced graphics and lighting, and remastered ambient sounds and backgrounds." Read more »

With the upcoming, Vietnam-themed Battlefield: Bad Company 2 downloadable expansion pack, players are going to be thrown into a completely new region complete with fifteen new weapons and a handful of new vehicles across four maps.
The latest trailer for Bad Company 2's add-on features an intense battle atop "Hill 137," complete with handheld--and tank-equipped--flamethrower action. Read more »

The Vietnam "digital expansion pack" for DICE's shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will cost $14.99 (1,200 Microsoft Points) when it launches this winter on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, a new trailer has revealed.
The trailer shows off in-game action from the Vietnam War add-on, which packs four maps, fifteen weapons, six vehicles, and 49 fitting songs on in-game radios, including Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' and 'Fortunate Son' by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Read more »

EA Mobile has announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is coming to your iPhone and iPod Touch and is expected to be released in November. No price has been disclosed.
From the sound of things, it is aiming to be a decently featured port of the game with a "console level storyline" across "14 single-player missions" and "full online multiplayer". Read more »

A sombre Battlefield: Bad Company 2 cinematic trailer and several screenshots have been deployed from the Tokyo Game Show to give our best look so far at DICE's multiplayer "digital expansion pack" for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Set during the ill-conceived conflict, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will feature four new maps "from the rice fields of the Phu Bai Valley to the napalm scorched earth of Hill 137." New toys include 15 weapons and 6 vehicles, such as the Huey helicopter, T54 tank and PBR patrol boat. As you can't mythologise Nam without rockin' tunes, there'll be 8 radio channels playing 49 tracks, with Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries'--as heard in Apocalypse Now--and 'Fortunate Son' by Creedence Clearwater Revival among them.
