Does Peggle no longer thrill you the way it once did? Sure, the combination of unicorns, rainbows, bouncing balls, and Ode to Joy made something truly alluring. But it's been over four years since PopCap Games introduced its pachinko game to the world, and maybe it just doesn't have the same luster.
But you'll be able to give Peggle the makeover it deserves. A new job listing reveals that PopCap is looking to give the series a "stylistic reboot."

PopCap's odd unicorn-starring, ball-busting puzzle game, Peggle, has reached more than 30 million downloads since its debut in 2007. Sure, that's across a number of releases on nearly every platform imaginable, but that's still an impressive feat nonetheless.
Given those kinds of numbers, it doesn't seem too surprising why EA bought the company for as much as it did.

PopCap is planning on bringing two of its most popular casual games, Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle to Facebook "eventually." The ball got rolling when Games.com noticed a slide at an EA investor meeting that posed the two games under "Success on Facebook" next to planned EA games Risk: Factions and The Sims: Social.
The Escapist reports that PopCap's Garth Chouteau later confirmed the reports, but was hazy on the details. "Sure, they're coming to Facebook eventually," he said. "No timetable available yet, however." The word "eventually" doesn't sound like it will be terribly soon, so you might have to rely on old-fashioned methods of bragging to your friends about your zombie-killing abilities.

Almost every PopCap game on Xbox 360 can be downloaded for half-off this week. Xbox Live Gold members can pick up Plants vs. Zombies for 600 Microsoft Points ($7.50), Peggle for 400 Microsoft Points ($5), and Bejeweled Blitz Live for only 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50).

PopCap games has released Peggle Nights for the iPhone and iPod Touch as a paid update to the original Peggle app, which is currently on sale for .99 cents for non-owners.
The Peggle Nights content can be unlocked through an in-app purchase of $2.99 for owners after updating the original game. This makes Peggle and Peggle Nights $4 for non-owners during this sale. A great deal! Read more »

Casual gaming master PopCap is hoping to integrate social features into all its games in the future, senior designer Dave Bishop explained during a talk at Develop 2010, as well as rolling out new social network games "based on PopCap's classic franchises."
Bishop gave the example of a future Peggle instalment showing players which 'Peggle masters' their friends are using, so they can question and taunt them appropriately. Read more »

It's turning out to be an awfully busy week for PopCap, as on top of launching Bejeweled RPG Gyromancer (co-developed by Square) and the Xbox 360's Peggle Nights expansion, the developer will see Peggle and Peggle Nights debut on PlayStation 3.
The joy-tastic ball-bouncing peg-buster will be downloadble via the PlayStation Store this Thursday, November 19. The core game and its 55 levels will sell for $9.99, with the Nights expansion delivering another 60 at $4.99--same as the Xbox 360 editions. Read more »

The Peggle Xbox Live Arcade downloadable content bringing PC sequel Peggle Nights' sixty levels of peg-pinging fun will arrive on November 18, PopCap has revealed.
The Nights DLC will run 400 Microsoft Points ($5)--nearly doubling the game's level count for half its original price--with PopCap's Garth Chouteau further telling Shacknews that "you have to admit Marina is the sexiest electric squid in videogamedom!"

LucasArts has released the official system requirements for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition: The Video Game, and while most of the bullet-points are pretty reasonable, the 24GB install is certainly a little intimidating.
The Sith Edition--set to include the previous Tatooine DLC pack and a new, exclusive Hoth level--hits this holiday on PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Read more »

Based around the first Star Wars film, the "Tatooine Mission Pack" sees the Force Unleashed's Apprentice travel to the sandy planet to do battle with Jawa and Jedi alike.

The 60 levels of PopCap's peg-busting, ball-bouncing sequel Peggle Nights (PC) are coming to the Xbox 360 iteration of Peggle in the form of downloadable content.
The expansion pack is due out this fall, developer PopCap announced today, noting that it "includes all the levels and challenges from the PC and Mac versions of Peggle Nights" and has been "tuned specifically for the [Xbox Live Arcade] player." No price was given. Read more »
