PopCap's odd unicorn-starring, ball-busting puzzle game, Peggle, has reached more than 30 million downloads since its debut in 2007. Sure, that's across a number of releases on nearly every platform imaginable, but that's still an impressive feat nonetheless.
Given those kinds of numbers, it doesn't seem too surprising why EA bought the company for as much as it did.

PopCap games has released Peggle Nights for the iPhone and iPod Touch as a paid update to the original Peggle app, which is currently on sale for .99 cents for non-owners.
The Peggle Nights content can be unlocked through an in-app purchase of $2.99 for owners after updating the original game. This makes Peggle and Peggle Nights $4 for non-owners during this sale. A great deal! Read more »

Casual gaming master PopCap is hoping to integrate social features into all its games in the future, senior designer Dave Bishop explained during a talk at Develop 2010, as well as rolling out new social network games "based on PopCap's classic franchises."
Bishop gave the example of a future Peggle instalment showing players which 'Peggle masters' their friends are using, so they can question and taunt them appropriately. Read more »

It's turning out to be an awfully busy week for PopCap, as on top of launching Bejeweled RPG Gyromancer (co-developed by Square) and the Xbox 360's Peggle Nights expansion, the developer will see Peggle and Peggle Nights debut on PlayStation 3.
The joy-tastic ball-bouncing peg-buster will be downloadble via the PlayStation Store this Thursday, November 19. The core game and its 55 levels will sell for $9.99, with the Nights expansion delivering another 60 at $4.99--same as the Xbox 360 editions. Read more »

The Peggle Xbox Live Arcade downloadable content bringing PC sequel Peggle Nights' sixty levels of peg-pinging fun will arrive on November 18, PopCap has revealed.
The Nights DLC will run 400 Microsoft Points ($5)--nearly doubling the game's level count for half its original price--with PopCap's Garth Chouteau further telling Shacknews that "you have to admit Marina is the sexiest electric squid in videogamedom!"

The 60 levels of PopCap's peg-busting, ball-bouncing sequel Peggle Nights (PC) are coming to the Xbox 360 iteration of Peggle in the form of downloadable content.
The expansion pack is due out this fall, developer PopCap announced today, noting that it "includes all the levels and challenges from the PC and Mac versions of Peggle Nights" and has been "tuned specifically for the [Xbox Live Arcade] player." No price was given. Read more »

Now available on FileShack is Peggle: World of Warcraft edition, a free stand-alone edition of PopCap's popular peg-pinging puzzler themed around the Blizzard MMORPG.
The 13MB download contains ten new levels starring World of Warcraft allumni including Ragnaros and the infamous Hogger himself, as well as ten new challenges. Read more »

Having missed the "early March" target, PopCap's long-awaited iPhone and iPod Touch rendition of casual sensation Peggle will finally arrive May 12, Joystiq reports.
The exact cost of the App Store download is still under consideration, but the site speculates that it will "probably fit into a more 'premium' price range between $5-6." Read more »

PopCap today announced the release of its popular casual game Peggle as free add-on for World of Warcraft.
Strangely enough, the Peggle port is rather impressive, including WoW-themed backgrounds and a custom "talent tree" to spec out your Peggle skills.

The long-awaited downloadable Xbox 360 release of PopCap's ball-bouncing puzzle game Peggle will arrive this Wednesday, March 11, at the price of 800 MS Points ($10). The goal is simple: take out the colored orange pegs before you run out of shots.
Along with 55 single-player levels and 75 Challenge mode stages, the Xbox 360 release packs two multiplayer modes, the two-player duel mode and four-player peg party mode. Both can be played online over Xbox Live, and the duel mode can also be played offline. Read more »
