Painkiller: Resurrection Demo Released

Painkiller fans curious whether relatively untested developer Homegrown Games is up to task of continuing the frenetic demon-slaying shooter series can now give Painkiller: Resurrection a whirl courtesy of a 1.3GB demo available over on FileShack.

Painkiller: Resurrection hits North American PCs on October 27, with "new & improved" monsters and weapons, destructible environments and a new co-op multiplayer mode.

Painkiller: Resurrection Gets Trailer, Gold Status

"Pain Is Back," declares this trailer for Homegrown's frantic shooter sequel Painkiller: Resurrection (PC). Other points? "New & Improved Monsters." "New & Improved Weapons." "New Co-Op Mode." "Dynamic Light Sources." "Destructible Environments."

The game went gold today, and will be at North American retailers on October 27. A downloadble demo should be available "shortly," according to publisher JoWooD.

First Painkiller: Resurrection Screenshots

The first screenshots from Painkiller: Resurrection--announced last week, sporting coop--show the titular Painkiller weapon is intact and that red is the new brown.

Developed by Homegrown Studios and published by JoWood Productions, Painkiller: Resurrection is due on PC later this year, and potentially Xbox 360 further down the line.

Old school monster-mashing first-person shooter series Painkiller is to receive a shot of adrenaline to the heart with Painkiller: Resurrection, reports IGN.

Players will be cast into a conflict between Heaven and Hell, ensuring once again we'll blast our way through demonic hordes with exotic weaponry, including the titular Painkiller of course, perhaps offering the opportunity to stick it to the good guys. Read more »
