Painkiller Hell & Damnation Mac and Linux editions following mod tools

Few games receive mod tools nowadays, partly because they take time and money to make and support but also because mods often offer for free the sorts of things publishers try to sell as paid DLC. While Painkiller: Hell & Damnation offers a few pieces of DLC, it's also letting players make their own stuff for the FPS remake. Publisher Nordic Games today announced that the mod kit will launch in April. Mac and Linux editions will follow, too.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation curses consoles in April

PCnauts have been merrily murdering monsters in Painkiller Hell & Damnation since Halloween, but the consoleers were left hanging until today. Publisher Nordic Games has announced the fast-paced FPS remake will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 5 at the budget price of $29.99.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation coming to PC on Halloween

Your next descent into hell with the Painkiller series is coming this Halloween. Painkiller Hell & Damnation will be available on PC on October 31, in both a $20 standard edition and a $30 CE.

The Collector's Edition will include a tarot card power up for single-player, multiplayer skin, posters and postcards from Hell, an art book, stickers, ten tracks from the soundtrack, and a making-of DVD.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation coming from NecroVisioN dev

Painkiller has been passed between many developers since People Can Fly's splendid original game in 2004, with largely unpleasant results, but the shooter may now have landed at a developer who can do it justice. Work on Painkiller Hell & Damnation is underway at The Farm 51, maker of the daft-in-a-pleasant-way NecroVisioN, publisher Nordic Games announced at E3.
