Capcom Announces Three: Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Okamiden and Bionic Commando Rearmed 2

At its annual Captivate media summit, publisher and developer Capcom confirmed three games--two new, one previously known--for Europe and North America:

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

Leading the trio is the long awaited Marvel vs. Capcom 3, a full-fledged disc-based sequel due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the spring of 2011. Riding the resurgence of interest in 2D fighting games behind the success of Street Fighter 4, the new game will take a similar approach to making a modern update of a classic. Its roster will include a selection of returning fighters from the series and new characters both Marvel and Capcom have created over the years since the last game came out. Okami DS Trailer: 'Shucks' and 'Awww'

A lovely little trailer for Okamiden has emerged via Famitsu, who last week revealed the Nintendo DS sequel to Clover Studios' PS2 watercolour action adventure Okami.

Okamiden stars baby lupine deity Chibiterasu and companion characters, with the stylus used to attack and solve puzzles. Reportedly developed in-house at Capcom and produced by Onimusha director Motohide Eshiro, Okamiden will hit Japan in 2010.

Okami Sequel 'Okamiden' Headed to DS

Clover Studio's PlayStation 2 watercolour action adventure Okami is to receive a sequel named Okamiden for the Nintendo DS, according the latest issue of Famitsu, via IGN.

The main character is a baby wolf very similar to Okami's Amaterasu, named Chibiterasu, with gameplay also resembles the original. Wielding the DS stylus as the Celestial Brush, players will paint into the world to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Read more »
