NIER DLC Due This Week [Updated]

The first downloadable add-on for Cavia's action-RPG NIER will be available in Europe on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this week, publisher Square Enix has announced.

Dubbed "The World of Recycled Vessel," the download sees "the pages of a diary open a gate to a strange world that mixes past and present," meaning that those who opt to shell out for the add-on will be able to:

Play as young Nier, conquer 15 difficult challenge levels to unlock two sets of alternate costumes for Nier, Emil and Kaine, three powerful weapons that only a "Fool" would miss out on, enjoy new music unique to The World of Recycled Vessel and a bonus quest that challenges you to destroy your woolliest adversaries!

NIER publisher Square Enix has released a new trailer to herald the impending launch of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles co-developer Cavia's action-adventure.

As "storytelling like only Square Enix can do" is promised, it's no surprise that Square concedes "you STILL may not have figured out exactly what is going on" with the story. Apparently this launch trailer should help ease in you but we remain as lost as ever. Read more »

NIER Media Shows Slaughter of Monsters, Sheep

Square Enix has unleashed a media blast for what it describes as "the next great story from Square Enix"--the action adventure NIER.

While NIER is developed by Cavia, "storytelling like only Square Enix can do" is still promised and the Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles co-developer certainly seems to understand the importance of colossal swords. NIER is due to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year. Read more »

First Look at Square Enix and Cavia's 'NIER'

Here's the first trailer for NIER, a new action adventure title announced by publisher Square Enix on Friday. The title is being developed by Cavia, the studio responsible for the recent Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

Square Announces Two: Front Mission Evolved, NIER

In rolling out its E3 lineup, Square Enix has detailed two previously unannounced projects, including the rumored Front Mission Evolved.

In development at Double Helix, Front Mission Evolved will take the mech-based strategy series into the realm of third-person shooting. The action game will feature both a singleplayer campaign and online multiplayer, and is set for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Read more »
