Rock Band DLC: Spinal Tap, Evanescence

Continuing the long-running Friday tradition, Rock Band series developer Harmonix pulled back the curtain on the next batch of downloadable content for the franchise.

The following tunes hit Xbox 360 on Tuesday June 16 and PS3 on Thursday June 18:

Rock Band Getting Green Day DLC in Early July, Additional 'Songs and Projects' Promised

Developer Harmonix today announced a deal that will see American pop-punk act Green Day appear exclusively in the Rock Band series of multi-instrument music games.

Three tracks--"21 Guns," "Know Your Enemy," "East Jesus Nowhere"--will be released as downloadable content on July 7, with word that "additional Green Day songs and projects will be announced at a later date." The band is perhaps best known for "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," a song immortalized in numerous graduation ceremonies, countless video montages, and the Seinfeld series finale special. Rock Band Gets Iron Maiden DLC on June 9

Are you ready to run to the hills, for real this time? Developer Harmonix just sent out the latest issue of its Rock Band Community Zine, revealing that the multi-instrument music game series will receive a sizable dollop of downloadable Iron Maiden tunes soon.

The best part is that, finally, you can replace the "Run to the Hills" cover (from the first Rock Band) and the downloadable "Number of the Beast" cover with the originals. Read more »

Rock Band DLC Packs Franz Ferdinand, Alien Ant Farm, Allman Brothers, Prong and More

A whopping ten new downloadable tracks will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners of Rock Band and Rock Band 2 next week, Harmonix has revealed.

Slated to hit Xbox 360 on Tuesday, May 5 and PlayStation 3 on Thursday, May 7, the tunes will be available for 160 Microsoft Points ($2) a pop, with a Franz Ferdinand three-pack bundle offering a slight savings at 440 Microsoft Points ($5.50). Read more »

Rock Band DLC: An Entire Jane's Addiction Album

Developer Harmonix has announced that alt-rockers Jane's Addiction's 1988 album Nothing's Shocking will be coming to Rock Band as downloadable content next week.

The 10-track DLC album lacks "Mountain Song," already on the Rock Band 2 disc.

PS3 and Xbox 360 players can get their fix in a 1280 MS Points ($16) bundle or separately for 160 MSP ($2), while Wii owners will have to score each track by itself. Read more »

Next Week's Rock Band DLC Adds REO Speedwagon, Styx and Hautewerk

In its usual celebration of Friday, developer Harmonix today unveiled the next round of Rock Band downloadable content coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The following tunes will hit the Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday, April 21, with a PlayStation Store debut on Thursday, April 23. Each is a master track recording that'll sell individually at 160 MS Points ($2), with the Styx songs being "recent re-records". Read more »

Rock Band DLC: GNR's Chinese Democracy Album

Developer Harmonix has detailed next week's wodge of downloadable content for the Rock Band series: the bulk of Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy album.

As expected, thirteen of the album's fourteen tracks will be available for download, as the remaining tune--"Shackler's Revenge--is already on the Rock Band 2 game disc.

PS3 and Xbox 360 players can get them in a 1600 MS Points ($20) bundle or separately for 160 MSP ($2). Sorry Wii owners, you'll have to purchase each song individually. Read more »

Lips Mic Support in Guitar Hero Metallica Now, Coming to Rock Band 2 and Future Games Later

Though it's been a few months, Microsoft today re-affirmed that the Xbox 360 release of Rock Band 2 will indeed be someday compatible with the flashy wireless microphones that came with the Microsoft-published, iNis-developed karaoke game Lips (X360).
