The "first and only" NASCAR game for the Wii will arrive on February 10 in the form of NASCAR Kart Racing, publisher and developer Electronic Arts has announced.
While EA's past NASCAR titles on other platforms have been billed as realistic simulations, Kart Racing looks to be more arcade-like and pick-up-and-play friendly.
Up to four players can race through the game's 24 environments, which range from deserts and junkyards to the Daytona International Speedway, and require players to jump over rivers and dodge falling boulders. Read more »

After years of lamenting that they see no kickback from the extremely lucrative used game market, game makers have launched a counter-attack by packing new games with one-use codes for extra content.
New copies of Epic's Gears of War 2 (360) will include a one-use download code that will rewards with 5 additional multiplayer maps, all pulled from the original Gears of War. According to GamePro, these maps will not be available for purchase through the Xbox Live Marketplace, with Epic claiming they are "special gifts [for] our loyal fans." Read more »

EA Sports president Peter Moore took the stage at EA's E3 press briefing today to show "how we're evolving" to reach current and new customers.
Former NBA star Bill Walton appeared to help Moore demonstrate NBA Live 09 with two other EA representatives. After Walton's long, long diatribe about sports and NBA ended--"That was completely different than what we did in rehearsal," said Moore--the four showed off the game's Dynamic DNA feature. Publisher Electronic Arts today released new screenshots and a teaser trailer from EA Sports' NBA Live 09, highlighting San Antonio Spurs' point guard Tony Parker as the title's cover athlete.
In development for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 and PSP, NBA Live 09 is slated for an October 7 launch in North America. Read more »
