PSP game-based exploits on PS Vita (mostly) closed

A mild hacking kerfuffle surrounding a couple of PSP games that enabled hacking exploits on the PlayStation Vita has been mostly quashed by Sony today. The two downloadable titles--MotorStorm Arctic Edge and Hot Shots Tennis--had been removed from the PS Store by Sony after it was discovered that both games could be exploited to run unsigned code on the PlayStation Vita.

MotorStorm PSP: The Unbelievable Trailer

Fresh off the announcement of MotorStorm Arctic Edge for PSP and PlayStation 2, publisher Sony has released a trailer and some captures from it. And while they're certainly pretty, there is no possible way the racer will look this clean and crisp in-game.

Developed by Bigbig Studios, Arctic Edge arrives on PSP and PS2 in the fall. The PSP version will sport online multiplayer for up to eight players and global leaderboards. Read more »

PSP Getting Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm

Sony's annual Destination PlayStation conference is underway, with confirmation that Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm are all PSP-bound.

Little is known regarding each game. Joystiq reports that Rock Band Unplugged will sport an in-game music store through the system's wireless capabilities, and adds that LittleBigPlanet PSP is being made "in conjunction" with creator Media Molecule. Read more »
