Mortal Kombat: Legacy is returning for a second season. The popular web series began as a short film, but was rolled into a series to accompany the release of last year's Mortal Kombat series reboot.
"It's going to be about the actual Mortal Kombat tournament this time," said Kevin Tancharoen in the announcement trailer. "A lot of people were expressing their opinions on wanting to see more fighting, more action, more visual effects, so we really took that to heart."

You've had almost a year to practice your Fatalities and climb the Challenge Tower in Mortal Kombat, so the time is ripe to do it all again in miniaturized fashion. WB Games announced today that the PlayStation Vita version of the game is coming on May 1.

When I first saw Mortal Kombat's Vita-exclusive touch-screen mini-games, I scoffed. "The touch-screen features seem entirely tacked-on," I said.
Well, having gotten my hands on the Vita version of Mortal Kombat, I have to admit I was wrong. While the gameplay of these experiences is nowhere as deep as the core game, they have enough campy Mortal Kombat personality that it's hard not to laugh while playing.

The upcoming PS Vita version of Mortal Kombat will be the most complete version of the game yet, with all the DLC included and additional exclusive content being thrown in for good measure. For example, the Vita version includes 15 additional costumes, including "MK3-styled garb for the ninjas." There's also a brand new Challenge Tower II, which adds 150 new challenges to the game.
This sounds good and dandy, but some of the touch-screen features seem entirely tacked-on.

Mortal Kombat for Vita will include everything from the PS3 game, including all the downloadable characters and content. So yes, that means you'll be able to pit Kratos against Freddie Kruger on the go.
But, what are some of the new features of the upcoming handheld port? "We really wanted to take advantage of Vita’s hardware," creative director Ed Boon said before detailing some of the Vita's exclusive new content.

Mortal Kombat is coming to the PlayStation Vita, and if the box art is any indication, it will be based off the "Komplete Edition" of the game, which includes every DLC character out of the box. The Vita box art shows off the PlayStation-exclusive character Kratos, in addition to DLC characters Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger.
NetherRealm Studios is promising new features "exclusively" for the Vita version, but teases that they will be revealed "in the coming months."

If nothing else, the past few years have taught us that patience pays off. Most big-budget games with downloadable content will eventually get it all packaged together, and last year's Mortal Kombat is no exception. WB Games and NetherRealm Studios announced the 'Komplete Edition' today, confirming earlier rumors.

Kan Warner Bros kontinue mispelling more words for Moral Kombat re-releases? The answer seems to be "yes." Britain's BBFC recently rated the "Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition," an updated version of the latest Mortal Kombat game on PS3 and Xbox 360. While the rating doesn't offer any insight into what the package will offer, it seems pretty easy to figure out.
As with other "Game of the Year" and "Director's Cut" re-releases, we're going to guess that this is a retail re-release of Mortal Kombat, with all the DLC included.

With high-grossing franchises like Batman, Mortal Kombat, and multiple LEGO titles, Warner Bros. has been largely successful in its recent forays into the video game business. President of Warner Interactive, Martin Tremblay, asserts that he expects 2011 to be the company's most profitable year in interactive entertainment, "on track to generate close to $1 billion in sales." Today's release of Batman: Arkham City for consoles is sure to help matters.

The Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series may be turning into a big screen movie. New Line Cinemas is attempting to produce a new film from the same creative team, and release it in 2013.
"The new game and the online shorts prompted us to consider a reboot of a brand we hadn’t been actively thinking about," New Line president Tony Emmerich said said. Emmerich is hoping to best the success of the previous two Mortal Kombat films, which he says "haven't aged well."

Market research firm NPD Group's retail-only data for the month of July has been released, with Electronic Art's latest college football entry, NCAA Football 12 taking top honors. NCAA 12 sold the best this July, "realizing a 15% increase in unit sales versus NCAA 11 in July 2010." That aside, "video game sales in the new physical retail channel suffered its lowest month since October 2006," noted NPD Analyst, Anita Frazier. New sales are down four percent, year-to-date, with a projected year-end sales figure that's two percent less than last year.

It's been a banner year for the Mortal Kombat series. Not only did the franchise get a fresh reboot, but a film pitch from a director/fan turned into a full-blown web series. Now Warner Bros. is packaging those webisodes into a Blu-ray, set to hit November 8 for $19.98.
