Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has heard your cries for a remake of the original game, but personally feels conflicted about the prospect. He says the idea interests him as a producer, but creatively he would want to be hands-off the project if it ever came to fruition.
"There are a lot of people wanting remakes of the original, and as producer I want to answer those calls" said Kojima. "But as a creator I'm not very interested in going back."

Konami USA has confirmed to Shacknews that "Hideo Kojima will continue working on Metal Gear Solid games," though the company would not clarify if this meant Kojima would be writing or directing future entries.
During the E3 2010 roundtable discussion with Shigenobu Matsuyama, the producer of Metal Gear Solid Rising, a question was raised about Rising's place within the Metal Gear Solid canon.To this, Mr. Matsuyama's response, via translator, seemed to hint the franchise creator Hideo Kojima might not be done with MGS. Continuing its spree of Metal Gear Solid news, Konami has announced that the original PSone title Metal Gear Solid is set to come to the PlayStation Network this month.
Arriving on June 17, the classic stealth game will be priced at $9.99 for the PlayStation 3 and PSP. Konami also noted that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be available under the PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits label from June 16 for $30.

A 42-year-old Turkish man has escaped from a German prison through the clever use of a cardboard box.
The man hid in the box at the end of a shift of his prison job of making stationery and was carried out by a courier service along with other boxes, reports the BBC. Read more »
