Mass Effect Trilogy's included DLC detailed

Mass Effect Trilogy's included DLC detailed

When BioWare announced the Mass Effect Trilogy, one key detail was missing: would any DLC be included? Given its budget price, many were expecting the compilation to omit any downloadable add-ons, preventing it from being a truly definitive re-release. Apparently, there will be some DLC included in the box, depending on which platform you're playing on.

Mass Effect Trilogy coming November, brings original game to PS3 for the first time

Some people missed the boat on this whole "Mass Effect" thing, and were forced to watch passively from the sidelines as adulation turned to ending-based scorn. If you'd like to give it a whirl and don't mind being late to the party, you can wait until November 6 when BioWare releases all three games in one box.

BioWare working on next 'full game' in Mass Effect series, brand new IP

BioWare has been upfront that Mass Effect 3 would not be the last game in their successful space RPG series. And apparently, they are already working on the next "full game" in the Mass Effect franchise. Morning Caffeinated! -- Spec Ops 'cancer,' Dawnguard flap, and Zynga'd

Another morning, Shack, and only one more day until Friday. I'll start the day off with a hearty congratulations to the folks at Uber for getting Planetary Annihilation Kickstarted, and they are closing in on a cool million dollars. I hope they make their stretch goals because the funding stream has slowed a bit from the initial run of pledges, but the good news is they still have 15 days left. If you want to know why I'm excited, look no further than the massive interview we did on the project earlier this week.

And off we go, hitting on a subject that has always frustrated me: forced multiplayer.

Mass Effect 3 trailer shows off 'Leviathan'

Mass Effect 3 trailer shows off 'Leviathan'

Mass Effect 3's first non-ending-fixing single-player downloadable content is due next week, titled Leviathan. It focuses on a new kind of creature, one just as old as the Reapers. BioWare has released a new cinematic trailer to get your blood pumping for more of the game.

As previously reported, completing Leviathan will add some dialogue options to the contentious ending of the game, and give more detail on the history of the Reapers. You'll also get an AT-12 Raider Shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle out of the deal. The DLC is due August 28.

Mass Effect 3 for Wii U preview

Mass Effect 3 for Wii U preview

The Wii U release of Mass Effect 3 comes months later than other platforms. While it comes with a few extras--an extended interactive comic and an exclusive new weapon--the focus for BioWare's port was GamePad implementation. While there are some novel ideas, I found the new features added by the Wii U controller didn't add much to the overall experience.

Visually, the Wii U version is pretty much the exact same game you've seen on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Don't expect higher-fidelity visuals or snazzy new special effects. You will be able to play the game on the TV or entirely on the GamePad--the latter is an interesting option, as seeing a game like Mass Effect 3 run "on a handheld" still holds some novelty. Doing so will provide an experience most similar to the other console versions, as none of the GamePad-specific features can be accessed in this mode.
