Although the Wii U version of Madden NFL 13 has long since missed the opening kickoff, it offers football fans an interesting option for those that have yet to play it on Xbox 360 and PS3. While lacking polish, this incarnation of Madden utilizes Nintendo's GamePad in interesting ways, making it an exciting prospect.

Football fans had much to celebrate as the NFL season kicked off yesterday with the Cowboys beating the Giants. But, Electronic Arts has even more reason to party. Good morning, Shack!
It's the start of a new week, and time for the launch (or reformatting) of the Shack morning show. I'll be up bright and early each morning to bring you a Keefinated dose of sunshine, so put a cap on that coffee and get comfortable.
For those reading this for the first time, the Morning Keefinated has been appearing regularly in Shack Chatty for two weeks, and irregularly since I started in March. Now you get easy indexing, a list of tags (at the bottom) to quickly access popular Shack features and my semi-coherent rambling on a variety of topics, some of them being game-related. So let's get this rolling, albeit on a sad note.

EA Sports' Season Ticket program is coming back for another year. And it provides a far greater value than last year's debut offering.
As before, the $25 Season Ticket grants you early access to this season's games. You'll be able to download an early version of Madden, NHL, FIFA, Tiger Woods, and NCAA three days before its retail release via PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Note that while these games are fully playable for three days with the membership, you'll have to actually buy a copy if you want to play beyond the trial period.

While the Wii U version of Madden NFL 13 will tout some exclusive new features over its Xbox 360 and PS3 brethren, it's going to be missing a few crucial features from the other console versions that make this year's iteration "improved" over last year's.
Perhaps the most significant feature absent in Madden's Wii U debut is the Infinity Engine. In the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, this system revamps the game's physics system. Instead of running the updated engine, the Wii U will be stuck with the physics from Madden NFL 12.

The 2008 suit alleged that after EA killed the budget-priced NFL 2K series by nabbing exclusive rights to the NFL, it was free to hike the prices of its own Madden games.
