Lost Planet 2 Gameplay Trailers Show 4-Player Co-op

Capcom has recently unleashed a quartet of Lost Planet 2 trailers, showing several groups of various Europeans enjoying four-player co-op on two different levels.

Lost Planet 2 is slated for an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 launch on May 11, with a PC version to follow in the fall. A new demo will hit 360 on April 21 then PS3 on April 22. Read more »

Lost Planet 2 Screenshots: Multiplayer Demo Map

Capcom released new screenshots of the multiplayer map "Turbulent Jungle" for the multiplayer demo of its upcoming third-person shooter Lost Planet 2, which should begin on April 21 (Xbox 360) and April 22 (PS3).

Capcom has begun handing out voucher codes for early access to the multiplayer demo beginning today. On Monday, Lost Planet 2's release date for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 was moved up a week to May 11th. The PC version will follow in the fall.

Lost Planet 2 Trailer Shows 4-Player Multiplayer Action

Capcom London invited four gamers to its headquarters to get an early hands-on with some Lost Planet 2 multiplayer. The footage has been edited into a new trailer, complete with voice chat (in the Queen's English) from the lucky four gamers.

Lost Planet 2 Gets Earlier Release Date on Consoles, New Demo and PC Version in Fall

Capcom's super-sized insect Akrid shooter sequel Lost Planet 2 is now due to arrive on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 a week earlier than expected--May 11 instead of May 18 for North America--and will also be receiving a new downlodable demo shortly.

The new demo, slated to hit the Xbox 360's online marketplace April 21 and that of the PlayStation 3 on April 22, will offer sixteen-player online versus mode play on the "Turbulent Jungle" map. Those that play the demo and buy the game following its retail release will be rewarded with immediate access to the Machine Gun SP weapon. Read more »

Lost Planet 2 GameStop Pre-Order Bonus Changed, Split-Screen Multiplayer Confirmed

Citing "massive demand," Capcom has changed the GameStop-exclusive pre-order bonus for Lost Planet 2 as, in the company's words, it "listens to the fans."

The previous pre-order bonus--a multiplayer skin of Resident Evil villain Albert Wesker, complete with Magnum Revolver--will now be available to all that buy the game. Read more »

Gears of War Stars Cameo in Lost Planet 2

With Capcom having teased some sort of collaboration with Microsoft, and Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski having teased "kick ass news soon," Capcom has announced that its Xbox 360 release of Lost Planet 2 will sport Gears of War cameos.

Specifically, the two stars of Epic and Microsoft's Xbox 360-centric Gears franchise--Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago--will be playable characters in Lost Planet 2's multiplayer mode, as reported by andriasang and glimpsed in the below trailer: Read more »

Super Street Fighter 4, Lost Planet 2 Releases Dated; New SSF4 Trailer Hits

After recently announcing delays for Super Street Fighter IV and Lost Planet 2, Capcom today unveiled its spring lineup and dated the pair for late April and May, respectively.

Standalone beat 'em up revamp Super Street Fighter IV will arrive for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 27 in North America, followed by a European release on April 30. Read more »

Lost Planet 2 Screenshots: Rooooooooaaarrr!

New Lost Planet 2 screenshots reveal another of the many humongous boss enemies in Capcom's sci-fi shooter, the blind roaring monstrosities the 'Debouse.'

While a demo arrived back in September, Lost Planet 2 is not slated for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 until between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011, with a PC version also planned. Check out Garnett's hands-on impressions from CES 2010 for more.

CES 2010: Lost Planet 2 Hands-On

Capcom brought a new Lost Planet 2 demo to CES featuring the game's four player co-op mode. Set in a rail yard, the demo tasked our tream with stopping an enemy force from hijacking a giant train-gun. That objective goes out the window shortly into the mission when a giant class G Akrid monster shows up.

To beat the scenario we had to team up and take down the boss.

Capcom Delays Three Citing Crowded Quarter

Seeking to "avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce" between January 1 and March 31, 2010, publisher Capcom has delayed three "major titles" once slated to arrive during that period.

Lost Planet 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), Super Street Fighter IV (PS3, Xbox 360) and the North American release of Monster Hunter Tri (Wii) are now due sometime during Capcom's next fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011. Read more »

Lost Planet 2's Tokyo Game Show Media Drops In

A variety of environments, emotions and monsters are highlighted in the latest Lost Planet 2 media, released today by Capcom in commemoration of Tokyo Game Show.

Look for the action game to hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by March 31, 2010. A downloadable demo is available on Xbox 360, with a PlayStation 3 demo due today. Read more »

Lost Planet 2 Demo Hitting PS3 Next Week

An expanded Lost Planet 2 demo will be released on PlayStation 3 next Thursday, September 24, offering two extra missions not found in the earlier Xbox 360 demo.

Over on the PlayStation.Blog, developer Capcom noted that the those two additional missions continue the "online co-operative extermination of the Akrid of E.D.N. III." Read more »

Lost Planet 2 Xbox Demo Lands August 19

A demo of Capcom's upcoming sci-fi shooter Lost PLanet 2 will hit Xbox Live on August 19, Capcom has announced. Gold subscirbers will have access to the demo that day, while Silver members can take a crack at it on August 26.

The demo will center around a "desperate battle against the enormous G-Type Salamander Akrid boss." Squads of four players will cooperate to bring down the beast by "shearing off its legs" or "being swallowed and fighting their way out from the inside." Read more »
