LocoRoco Cocoreccho!, Skate Demo Available Today on PSN

The interactive screensaver spinoff to LocoRoco, Sony Computer Entertainment's LocoRoco Cocoreccho! will be available for download today from the PlayStation Store for $6.99. The 1080p capable title is a point-and-click adventure-esque take on LocoRoco with far less emphasis on world-tilting than the original roll-happy title. In addition to LocoRoco, this week's Thursday PlayStation Store update will bring four demos: EA Black Box's Tony Hawk-killer Skate, SCEA Studios San Diego's NBA 08, Sega Racing Studio's rally car racer Sega Rally Revo, and Paradigm Entertainment's Stuntman: Ignition.

LocoRoco Sequel Flops onto PlayStation Network

A new sequel to Sony Computer Entertainment Japan's LocoRoco (PSP) is making its way to the PlayStation 3's online PlayStation Network. The working title of the game--Buu Buu Cocoreccho! by LocoRoco--may look like textual vomit, but LocoRocos aren't exactly known for their appearances. Over 200 of the colorful blob characters will populate the new game, which will also support the Sixaxis controller for motion-based gameplay. "It's LocoRoco, but it's not--a peculiar extra chapter," reads an official description of the game provided by IGN. The text insinuates that the adorable blobs will act of their own accord when not controlled by the player, stating, "Even if you don't play it, the world and the LocoRoco will play on their own." This fits with several comments made by LocoRoco director Tsutomu Kuono during a session at this year's GDC, who hinted that artificial intelligence would play a larger role in series' future. No release or pricing information for the downloadable game has been revealed, although SCEJ apparently listed the game as 95% complete. Requests to SCEA for comment had not been returned as of publication.
