A forthcoming update for Factor 5's Lair (PS3) will add analog control support to the dragon-riding action title, IGN reports.
Details released by Sony Japan reveal that the update will allow players to shed Lair's Sixaxis-only control scheme in favor of a more familiar analog setup. The update will be available in Japan on April 17, with a worldwide release likely following soon thereafter. Read more »

Convention season is here and in full swing. Hot off the heels of San Diego Comic-Con, we have BlizzCon, QuakeCon, and SOE's Fan Faire this week. Oh, and Penny Arcade's PAX is coming soon too.
That said, I think I'll hang back here in Indiana and watch from a distance, but you kids have fun out there. Do me a favor though: if you're at QuakeCon, ruffle Chris Remo's hair for me. And if you see Nick Breckon out at BlizzCon, tell him his shoe is untied. Yes, even if it isn't. Bonus points if you or a friend can knot his laces together without getting caught.
As for tonight's bytes, we have word of a brief Lair (PS3) delay, DiRT on PlayStation 3, new content for Forza Motorsport 2 (X360), and the Record of Lunia War (PC) open beta.

Lair delayed

Factor 5's upcoming dragon-focused PlayStation 3 title Lair has been pushed back from its previously announced and confirmed August 14 release date. The game will now ship to stores on September 4.
"Natural challenges that arose while finalizing the offline game to include key online features-such as leaderboards and medal systems-have led to the difficult choice of pushing back the release date," wrote SCEA producer Ryan Hamlyn on the official PlayStation blog.

So tomorrow is the Fourth of July, meaning there probably won't be much news. As next week will be an unbelievable onslaught of nonstop announcements, I get the feeling that the holiday will be one of those "calm before the storm" moments.
Today's brief include dates for Incognito's Warhawk (PS3), Factor 5's Lair (PS3), ArenaNet's Guild Wars: Eye of the North (PC), and details on collector's edition of Reality Pumps' Two Worlds (PC, X360).

"First" Guild Wars expansion pack hits in August
[pc]
The first expansion pack for ArenaNet's fee-less MMO Guild Wars (PC), entitled Eye of the North, is set for release on August 31, publisher NCsoft announced today. Adding 18 multi-level dungeons, 150 skills, ten heroes, and 40 new armor sets, Eyes of the North will also feature new items, weapons, and the Hall of Monuments, which the company claims will establish "a path for players to carry the legacy of their characters into the upcoming Guild Wars 2." While NCsoft has released game-expanding content for Guild Wars in the the past--including Guild Wars: Factions and Guild Wars: Nightfall--the company apparently classifies them as campaigns, not expansion packs.
