Jordan Mechner, the developer luminary behind the Prince of Persia series, has announced that his indie remake of the game Karateka will be downloadable on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year. Mechner himself is taking an active role as Creative Developer for the first time since 2003's Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

With the Prince of Persia series more popular than ever, creator Jordan Mechner is now planning to resurrect his first game, the martial arts-centric PC title Karateka.
"There actually is a plan to bring back Karateka," Mechner revealed during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, as reported by Gamasutra. "It's a project I'm going to be involved in. I can safely say it's not going to be in the way you expect." Read more »
