Joe Danger racing to PC this year

After a few years of touring one-stoplight towns, slowly building fame, the world's greatest stuntman is ready to play the finest venue in the land. Splendid stunty platformer Joe Danger and its sequel Joe Danger 2: The Movies are jumping from consoles to PC later this year, developer Hello Games announced today.

Joe Danger has managed to jump, backflip, and wheelie beyond the PS3. Last year, the critically-acclaimed racing/platforming game received a "Special Edition" for Xbox Live Arcade. This year, Joe Danger will return in a sequel, Joe Danger: The Movie (pictured).

But there's even more Joe in store for fans. This weekend, Hello Games will introduce a mobile version of Joe Danger to PAX East attendees.

Joe Danger makes XBLA debut Dec. 14

The upgraded, Xbox Live Arcade-exclusive Joe Danger: Special Edition from developer Hello Games is launching on December 14 for 1200 MS Points ($15 USD).

While the game was originally a Sony-published exclusive for the PlayStation Network, Microsft will help release the XBLA-only game that includes 50 new levels in the Laboratory, new challenges, modes, and unlockable characters.

Joe Danger Special Edition announced for Xbox 360

Stuntman supreme Joe Danger is indeed coming to Xbox 360, as a Korean Ratings Board listing had suggested, Microsoft announced today. The delightful race-o-platformer, originally released on PlayStation Network in June 2010, will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade this holiday season with heaps of new content.

According to Microsoft, Joe Danger Special Edition will have "double the game play time of the original," packing 50 new levels in the Laboratory, new challenges, modes, and unlockable characters.

Rumor: Joe Danger rated for XBLA in Korea

Joe Danger may be coming to Xbox Live Arcade, if a new listing from the Korean Ratings Board is any indication. The game was given a classification on Friday, and is said to be published by Microsoft Korea. Some questions of publishing rights make us skeptical, but the KRB has been reliable before.

Indie: LIMBO

2010 was a fantastic year for independently developed games, with many of the category's front-runners providing some of year's most memorable experiences. The black and white, melancholic platformer LIMBO has been lazily described as "the Braid of 2010," but beyond the fact that both are puzzle-platformers, they're really different beasts. Whereas Braid engaged players with colorful worlds and an intellectually engaging and text-driven story, LIMBO engages the player on a more visceral level, burying its incredibly subtle (but creepy) meta-story underneath minute-to-minute action that is equal parts foreboding, pulse-pounding, and head-scratching. Joe Danger Crashing Onto PS3 Next Week

Indie developer Hello Games has announced that its stunt motorcycle platformer Joe Danger will be released for download on PlayStation 3 on June 8, via Sony's PlayStation.Blog.

Joe Danger sees the world's greatest stuntman, the eponymous Mr Danger, popping stunts, dodging obstacles and collecting items on hazardous tracks, with singleplayer and split-screen multiplayer modes. Read more »

Joe Danger Making PlayStation 3 Jump

Joining LIMBO as this week's second Independent Games Festival nominee to make the leap to consoles, independent developer Hello Games today announced that its "stunt-em-up" Joe Danger is coming to PlayStation 3 in downloadable form this spring.

"We're a tiny team of four, trying to make a really big game, with some huge features like user generated content," marketing director Sean Murray noted in today's announcement. "We're the developer, the publisher and marketing team for Joe Danger. At best we know how to do one of those, and even that's arguable, it's a rollercoaster ride." Read more »
