Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Gameplay Footage Takes Us Through a Chateau

Now, I know this Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception level debuted on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, but now Naughty Dog has done us the kindness of releasing a much longer gameplay sequence from the game without all that fumbling about with the controller and banter by Fallon.

It's definitely worth a watch!

Uncharted 3 First Look Preview

The dramatic two-stage reveal of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception left everyone who saw it, self included, with questions. First, the trailer that debuted during the 2010 Spike VGAs showed series hero Nathan Drake next to the flaming wreckage of an airplane, ready to set off into the dunes of a vast desert. Then came the first look at the game in action on the Jimmy Fallon show. It found Drake with his partner Victor 'Sully' Sullivan trying to make their way out of a mansion engulfed in flames as thugs tried to slow them down. What has he gotten himself into this time? To offer a few answers, Sony got together several members of the team at Naughty Dog to present an extended version of the demo seen live on Fallon's show.

As promised, a live gameplay demonstration for Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception went down yesterday on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Directing the demo were Naughty Dog Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra.

Won't you take a look? The gameplay starts just before two minutes into the video and it shows off some amazing fire effects and some nice scripted action that scares Jimmy.

Uncharted 3 Revealed as 'Drake's Deception'

Ahead of its formal announcement, Entertainment Weekly has been granted a look at Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the third entry in Naughty Dog's action-archaeology series. It's slated for release on PlayStation 3 towards the tail end of 2011.

Drake's Deception will see Nathan on a deception-filled romp in search of the legendary lost city Iram of the Pillars, a setting apparently borne of Naughty Dog's desire to make some pretty digital sand. "We just look for something that will be a technical, artistic challenge, and allowed us to push into an area of the world and history we've never tapped into before," said Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells.
