Ubisoft Accepting User-Submitted Photos for Final Level in Child of Eden

Ubisoft has revealed a new initiative, giving gamers the ability to contribute to a level in the upcoming Q? Entertainment title, Child of Eden.

The 'Journey Project' will take user-submitted photos showcasing gamers' favorite memories and insert them into the game. Submissions for "happy and positive images" open today on the official Child of Eden website and will close on November 20, 2010. Approved images will be featured in the game's final level. Child of Eden Hands-on Preview

A decade ago, Q? Entertainment founder Tetsuya Mizuguchi led the team that produced Rez. Its inscrutable combination of shooting action, driving electronica music, and vividly imagined cyberscapes held an almost primitive appeal for those with whom it clicked. Though there was no sequel, only the remake Rez HD for XBLA, Rez finally gets a true spiritual successor in the upcoming Child of Eden. At a special event held during TGS, I got a chance to play this new experience, both with a controller and with Microsoft's Kinect motion controller peripheral.

Child of Eden to Get Full Retail Release

Child of Eden, the new game from Rez producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi, will get a full retail release. At E3, developer Q Entertainment was unsure if the title would hit retail or be released through the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live Arcade.

The news comes from an official tweet reading, "one point: Child of Eden is not a downloadable XBLA/PSN title, in case you were wondering." Read more »

Weekend Confirmed Episode 13

E3 2010 goes into the books with a deluge of games and we dive right into the deep end of them. Rez Producer Mizuguchi's 'Multi-Sensory Shooter' Child of Eden Unveiled

Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the designer behind titles including Rez, Space Channel 5 and Lumines, is producing a "multi-sensory shooter" with support for Microsoft's motion-sensing Xbox 360 controller Kinect, publisher Ubisoft announced. Read more »
