Having released a trio of so-called "mature" Wii games aimed at the during 2009, publisher Sega has now indicated that it's unlikely to bring any more "mature" titles to the platforms.
Though Sega previously pledged it would "still do mature games" despite disappointing sales, Sega of America studio director Constantine Hantzopoulos cast doubt on that commitment during the 4 Guys 1UP: 01/01/2010 podcast, pointing not just to the sales of its own titles, but those of Dead Space Extraction, an on-rails shooter published by rival EA. Joining Microsoft and Sony in this week's gold announcements, Sega sends word that Headstrong Games' House of the Dead: Overkill is done and off to manufacturing.
In celebration, the publisher provided a new trailer examining the story of the Wii-only light gun-style shooter, which hits North American retailers on February 10. Read more »

Ready to pop some zombie heads? Then mark February 10 on your calendar, as that's when Sega will be shipping Headstrong Games' House of the Dead: Overkill to stores.
Along with confirmation of the release date, Sega provided a few new screenshots from the light-gun-style Wii shooter, along with a new piece of pulp-style artwork.

Sega has released what it calls a "Halloween Treat" of a trailer for House of the Dead: Overkill. They also passed along a few new screenshots for you to peruse.
Overkill, a first-person rail shooter developed by Headstrong Games, hits the Wii in February 2009.

Following up on its Wii re-release of The House of the Dead 2 & 3, publisher Sega has announced that a new entry in the light gun zombie-shooting series is in the works.
Titled The House of the Dead: Overkill and set as a prequel to the first HotD, the game will debut early next year as a Wii exclusive. Development is being handled by external studio and Battalion Wars 2 (Wii) veterans Headstrong Games, formerly Kuju London. Read more »
