Delightful murder simulator Hotline Miami was never supposed to receive a sequel, so we should be jolly grateful that its planned DLC ended up morphing into one. But after that, developer Dennaton Games says, that's it. No more. It'll bow out murdering men in the early nineties then after that, you'll need to satisfy any head-stomping urges yourself.

Hotline Miami got a lot of attention on PC last year (though arguably not enough). In case you missed it on the ol' computer box, though, you'll be able to play it on the PlayStation 3 and Vita this spring. Better yet, it will be a cross-buy title, so purchasing either one nets you both versions.

Hotline Miami 2 announced

The creators of Hotline Miami have decided to turn the sequel-sized downloadable content into a full-blown sequel. Studio Dennaton Games is at work on the soundtrack for the title, which already had ambitious plans when it was DLC.

Hotline Miami coming to PC this month

A neon haze of ultraviolence is descending upon PC later this month, as publisher Devolver Digital has announced top-down murderfest Hotline Miami will launch on October 23, priced at $9.99. That's two weeks to dig out your finest pig mask and sharpen your reflexes for a gaudy world of messy one-hit kills and leaderboard rivalries.

Thanks to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the movie Drive, I dream of committing gross acts of ultraviolence in a neon haze while smooth synths zwang out. So Hotline Miami is just the sort of thing I'm looking for, announced yesterday by publisher Devolver Digital.
