Hotline Miami hammers PS3 & Vita next week

Hotline Miami hammers PS3 & Vita next week

"The thing is," I waffle on at the party, a pint mug of gin in one hand, "Hotline Miami criticises grotesque video game violence whilst forcing us to accept we do actually revel in it." Your eyes dart to the door but I've cornered you by the fridge. "That's very interesting," you say, "but I only have a PlayStation." Ha! You are caught. The PS3 and Vita editions will launch next week, priced at a very reasonable $9.99.

It contains the same 2D top-down action of the first game, but the story treads into darker territory and brings with it a sense of closure, as seen in a private demo at E3.

Hotline Miami 2 to close series in early '90s

Delightful murder simulator Hotline Miami was never supposed to receive a sequel, so we should be jolly grateful that its planned DLC ended up morphing into one. But after that, developer Dennaton Games says, that's it. No more. It'll bow out murdering men in the early nineties then after that, you'll need to satisfy any head-stomping urges yourself.

Countdown to the IGF 2013: Hotline Miami

The Independent Games Festival (IGF) is a celebration of gaming's hidden gems. On March 27th, five games will compete to win the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Every weekday until then, Shacknews will be highlighting a finalist, exploring what makes each game so unique.

Hotline Miami probably could be nominated for its soundtrack alone. Dennaton Games' stylish 2D beat 'em up is a bload-soaked murder-fest. But beneath the fast-paced combat and combo-powered high score system lies a sinister plot--one that will have you questioning the reasons behind your rampage.

Hotline Miami to bloody PS3, Vita this spring

Hotline Miami got a lot of attention on PC last year (though arguably not enough). In case you missed it on the ol' computer box, though, you'll be able to play it on the PlayStation 3 and Vita this spring. Better yet, it will be a cross-buy title, so purchasing either one nets you both versions.

Hotline Miami bringing 80s ultraviolence to PC

Thanks to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the movie Drive, I dream of committing gross acts of ultraviolence in a neon haze while smooth synths zwang out. So Hotline Miami is just the sort of thing I'm looking for, announced yesterday by publisher Devolver Digital.
