A sequel to the film adaptation of Hitman is in production, according to a new report by movie site IESB.
Writer Kyle Ward, also attached to the Kane & Lynch adaptation, is handling the script for Hitman 2. Producers Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon will return.
The original Hitman was released in 2007, with Deadwood veteran Timothy Olyphant in the starring role. Despite dismal reviews, the film eventually raked in $99.9 million at the box office.

Eidos has announced that Hitman: Blood Money has gone gold, and will ship to stores May 30. The third person assassin game sequel will be released on PC, PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360.
