Developer and publisher Square Enix has changed its positive predictions for the current financial year from a healthy profit to a crippling loss, and announced plans to bring in expensive reforms and restructuring. Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution, and Tomb Raider all failed to meet high sales expectations. The company had forecast a net profit of around $37 million for the fiscal year, which ends March 31, but has now revised that to be a whopping $138 million loss. Ouch.

Steam's holiday sale has started up, and is set to last through January 5. Today's initial offerings offer deals on a few games and the entire library of some series. These come alongside Flash Sales, a community vote for the next sale game, and various publisher packs.

Hitman: Absolution is nearly everything I want from a video game. It's beautiful, big, and an absolute blast to play. While far from perfect, the addictive stealth gameplay of Hitman kept me coming back for more. IO Interactive has crafted a game filled with so many interesting sandboxes to play in, that it's hard not to come back over and over again, long after the credits have rolled.

Hitman: Absolution is just around the corner, and Square Enix is drawing its promotional blitz to a close with the final launch trailer. It's full of quick cuts to the story, some token murders, and even the controversial "sexy nuns."

Hitman: Absolution will be out in less than three weeks, and Square Enix has released a new trailer showing off the "living, breathing world" of the game. Well, there are parts that aren't living and breathing so much after 47 has his way with them.
There is something unnerving about seeing him kill someone and then use their face to open a secure elevator.

The Hitman games tend to rack up a high body count, with the conceit that it's justified for some greater good. But when you get right down to it, you are straight-up murdering dozens of people, sometimes just to save one life. The newest trailer for Hitman: Absolution asks if that's justifiable.
