Cyberpunk fans waiting cautiously for Deus Ex: Human Revolution will have to wait a little longer, as publisher Square Enix today told investors that it's been delayed.
Eidos Montreal's sequel to Ion Storm's beloved RPG was due to launch in the current fiscal year--which ends on March 31, 2011--but has been pushed into somewhere in the next fiscal year, which runs April 2011 to March 2012, to allow for "further polish." Read more »

Square Enix has released an extended cut of the original trailer that introduced the latest entry in the Deus Ex franchise.
In the extended CGI trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution we get a more detailed look at Adam Jensen's backstory, including the loss of someone close to him and his reliance on augmentations to battle enemy forces. As has come to be the standard for the game's sporadic video reveals, the action looks intense. Read more »

The Eidos Montreal-developed Deus Ex: Human Revolution will get its own limited edition package when it is released next year. The Augmented Edition will run you $70 on console and $60 on PC, which represents a $10 premium over the game's standard edition ($60 console / $50 PC).

Eidos Montreal has released a new trailer for its upcoming--and first--title, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In the game, players take on the role of a security specialist named Adam Jensen, who after a brutal attack from an enemy force, is outfitted with newly-designed augmentations in order to ensure his survival.
In the trailer, we get a taste of what Jensen does to survive: mix stealth and raw power to unlock the secrets of being totally badass. Read more »

The first in-game Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer has arrived to give a peek at the stealth, characters, action and ventilation shafts of Eidos Montreal's cyberpunk prequel.
The trailer features areas and action shown off in the E3 gameplay demonstration this year, which we got to see and our old Chris said was "looking extremely promising." Read more »

A novel based on the Deus Ex franchise, tied closely to the timeline of the upcoming Eidos Montreal-developed Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is in the works from Del Rey Books, a division of Random House Publishing.
Expected to hit stores in February 2011, Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect will follow Secret Service agent Anna Kelso and Special Ops soldier Ben Saxon as they draw "uncomfortably close to the truth" about the "intricate" plans of dark and secret powers shadowing the world's cyberpunk dystopia setting. Ten years after its release, the original Deus Ex is widely considered to be a classic--a distinction that doesn't exactly extend to its somewhat-simplified sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War.
Now, after laying dormant for quite some time, the shooter-RPG series is making a return with a third entry, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
This being the first project out of Eidos Montreal--the same studio that's handling Thief 4--the shooter-RPG prequel had many concerned, especially given that series creator Ion Storm followed the original Deus Ex with a less-than-beloved sequel. But while the game on display at E3 was only a pre-alpha build, it's looking extremely promising. Read more »

A few surprises were tucked away within Square Enix's "E3 2010 Lineup," with the publisher officially announcing that The 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded will be on display--meaning the pair will be released in North America on dates to-be-determined.
A continuation of the long-dormant action-RPG series Parasite Eve, The 3rd Birthday is coming to PSP, promising "hideous creatures" that "descend on Manhattan" and the return of series star Aya Brea. Read more »

After taking the wraps off Deux Ex: Human Revolution and its E3 2010 trailer, publisher Square Enix has now officially released the first screenshot from the shooter prequel.
The image seems to confirm the legitimacy of the other screenshots that somehow (and apparently unofficially) began making the rounds last week, as it was among the pictures in that batch. Here are the others. Read more »
