Microsoft has registered a number of URLs, all related to something called "Halo Infinity." In addition to domains like haloinfinity.net, the company also acquired haloinfinitymultiplayer.com.
Initial speculation has led many to believe Halo Infinity may be a DLC release for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. "Infinity" was a multiplayer level exclusive to the PC version of Halo. It was a long canyon-shaped map, and according to Wikia, ideal for races.

The process of transitioning Halo data management from Bungie to 343 Industries started last summer, and finally has an end date. Bungie announced today that as of March 31, it will be completely out of the franchise it created that helped put Microsoft's consoles on the map.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary straddles the line between preservation and reinvention, and does so with awkward balance. As promised, the game is a nostalgic look at the original game with a slick coat of paint placed atop the original engine. But, something is lost in translation. The peril I felt throughout the original campaign has dissipated. Maybe it's the game's aggressive visual makeover? Or maybe it's because I've seen the beginning and end of this story, I'm not as engrossed as I once was.
Perhaps it's something else. After all, nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

To celebrate the release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, a new Halo-themed "Living Monument" has been erected. Gamers can add their image and name to the monument, which coats Master Chief's classic armor with photos from around the world.
Microsoft launched a more intricate monument near the launch of Halo: Reach. That monument formed an image of the Spartan Noble team out of points of light. A new live-action trailer set in the Halo universe was also released, found after the break.

343 Industries took Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on a worldwide tour to show off the game in advance of its November 15 launch. Along with touting its many features like the new engine that makes the decade-old classic look and sound like a modern game and remakes of six of the original's favorite multiplayer maps now using the Halo Reach online engine, a load of new screens were released to back up those claims.
To help put it all in perspective, Halo franchise manager at developer 343 Industries, Kevin Grace, selected these four representative screens and offered a brief word on what they mean to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Now that 343 Industries has assumed control of the Halo franchise, the company has weighed what design decisions are fundamental to the series DNA. Among them is the lack of iron-sights for weapons, which came to represent the idea of change and legacy in general in a recent interview.
"So it's really 'What is appropriate for your game, and what is appropriate for your encounters?'," said 343's Frank O'Connor. "Halo has these slightly longer, more strategic encounters."

343 Industries has announced that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is getting yet another classic map added to its multiplayer offering. Headlong, a favorite from Halo 2, has been remade and dubbed "Breakneck."
The map takes place in Section 21, a city destroyed by the Covenant assault. It's a large-scale map for 8-16 players, notable for its long-range weapons like rockets and sniper rifles.

[Update - XdM] This story originally, and incorrectly, stated that Halo Anniversary would see the return of the Magnum weapon from the original Halo in multiplayer via a title update to Halo Reach. What 343 Industries is actually doing is tweaking the current handgun to bring it as close to the original pistol as possible. Specifically, 343 told me at Halo Fest that the weapon will return to its three-shot headshot glory.
A number of other tweaks will be made to the game in stages, including the ability to ship away at an Armor Lock's energy by firing on locked Spartans and the removal of the Lock's ability to remove grenades that have stuck to the player. The complete Title Update for Reach is set to launch later this year.
