It's entirely understandable if you have no interest in the world and backstory of Halo, but look at the live-action web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn this way--it's another sci-fi series to watch, which is always welcome. The first proper trailer was released during Comic-Con, showing the sort of military academy shenanigans we can expect when it debuts on October 5.

Unlike the original Xbox, the 360 doesn't require a hard drive. Microsoft has sold millions of systems sans storage, and millions more with tiny 4GB drives. Most recently, the company started selling the 4GB system for only $99--with a required subscription fee. Unfortunately, anyone owning these consoles will have to upgrade if they want to jump into Halo 4's multiplayer mode.

After visiting with its designer last week, Spec Ops: The Line stands for inspection. Adam Sessler and Paul Semel join Jeff and Garnett in the discussion that looks at the game both on its surface as a shooter and its underlying ambitions to seriously address the carnage of a "heroic," one-man rampage. Along with the discussion of violence, the conversation also turns to the sustainability of the big-budget console game. Halo 4's commitment to episodic content and the demise of Radical Entertainment lead the news discussions. And of course, it all wraps up on Finishing Moves.

Hyperviolence was all the rage at this year's E3. However, only one hyperviolent game could take the crown. The Game Critics Awards have finally been determined, and Naughty Dog has come on top with The Last of Us. Its strong performance pushed PS3 to the top of the heap, with PS3 as the most-winning platform. Sony Computer Entertainment is the most-winning publisher as well, with 7 awards.

U, Watch_Dogs, The Last of Us, Beyond, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Resident Evil 6, and The Cave are just some of the games discussed in this week's info-packed episode.
