When Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock releases on September 28, owners of Guitar Hero: Metallica will be able to import 39 of the game's 49 songs. If the import is done within one week, it will be free on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Wii owners will have to pay.
After the promotional offer, the import will run you $6 across all three platforms, which includes the Wii version. The import tool will be sold as DLC in the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Shop Channel. Read more »

These new three trailers for Guitar Hero Metallica--titled "The Game," "The Music," and "Into the Game"--are meant to give us insight into Metallica's involvement the multi-instrument game that features their songs and bears their name.
It's out on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii come Sunday, March 29, with PS2 following in May.

The various members of Metallica won't be the only virtual musicians to appear in Guitar Hero Metallica, as publisher Activision has confirmed that a recreation of Mercyful Fate singer King Diamond will show up on the virtual stage during select songs.
Diamond joins Motorhead vocalist and bassist Lemmy, who was previously confirmed.

The full 49-song tracklist for Guitar Hero: Metallica has been unveiled by the band itself, revealing a total of 28 Metallica tunes and 21 tracks from other artists.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, developed by Neversoft, are due out March 29, with Budcat's Wii and PlayStation 2 iterations hitting later in the spring.
Guitar, bass, drum and vocal play will be available, with the game packing an Expert+ difficulty level that allows drummers to utilize dual bass pedals. Read more »

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Guitar Hero: Metallica will arrive in stores on March 29, according to a note from the band spotted by Joystiq.
The rhythm game is set to include 28 Metallica songs, along with tracks from Alice in Chains, the Foo Fighters, Slayer, Machine Head and Queen. An Expert+ drumming mode that enables support for two kick pedals will distinguish the gameplay from World Tour. Read more »

The first full trailer for Guitar Hero Metallica has been released, providing the first "official" glimpse of what is arguably among publisher Activision's worst kept secrets.

As the latest issue of Game Informer, which promises an exclusive look at Guitar Hero: Metallica, finds its way to subscribers, Kotaku noticed that denizens of the reputable ScoreHero forums have begun collecting the wealth of new information.

Following up on yesterday's off-screen shaky-cam leak of the first BioShock 2 teaser, another apparent shaky-cam leak has arrived, this one for Guitar Hero: Metallica.

Details in an Activision SEC filing uncovered by GameSpot has confirmed the existence of a new Guitar Hero title focused on the long-running heavy metal act Metallica in Guitar Hero: Metallica, scheduled for release in early 2009.
"In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms," the company said in the filing. Read more »
