Guitar Hero 80s Arrives in Limozeen with Dead Kennedys on July 24

Harmonix's Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s for PlayStation 2 has gone gold and will be in stores July 24, publisher Activision revealed today. In celebration of the news, Activision unveiled the last of the game's 30 tracks, including covers of Anthrax's "Caught in a Mosh," Dead Kennedys' "Police Truck," Accept's "Balls to the Wall," X's "Los Angeles," The Go Go's "We Got the Beat," Vapors' "(I Think I'm) Turning Japanese," and Winger's "Seventeen." Meanwhile, both Judas Priest's "Electric Eye" and Limozeen's "Because, it's Midnite" will appear in the game as master tracks performed by the original bands. Previously announced songs include covers of Poison's "Nothing But a Good Time", White Lion's "Radar Love," Oingo Boingo's "Only A Lad," and the original version of "I Ran" by Flock of Seagulls. Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s represents series creator Harmonix's last Guitar Hero title. The studio is now working on this fall's Rock Band (PS3, X360), which contains guitar, bass, karaoke, and drum gameplay. Developer Neversoft has taken the helm for the next Guitar Hero title, which will arrive on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii later this year.
