The Walking Dead was the big winner at the 2012 VGAs tonight, taking home five awards for Game of the Year, Best Downloadable Game, Best Performance by a Human Female for Clementine, Best Adapted Video Game, and Best Studio for developer Telltale Games. Gearbox Software's Borderlands 2 took home Best Shooter, Best Multiplayer, Best Performance by a Human Male for Handsome Jack, and the fan-voted Character of the Year for Claptrap. Journey took home three awards for developer thatgamecompany, including Best PS3 Game, Best Original Score and Best Independent Game.

A new installment of the Grand Theft Auto series always seems to get the industry buzzing, and many of us here at Shacknews couldn't be more excited for the series fifth numbered installment. If you're like us, you've already watched Grand Theft Auto 5's second trailer until it's seared into your brain, but don't let that stop you from taking one more gander. This time out, Shacknews Daily's Ryan Calavano and I sit down to dissect some of the trailer's finer points, similar to the breakdown of the first trailer when it was released. As residents of Los Angeles, we're both ridiculously excited to wreak havoc in a satirical version of our native city when the game comes out this spring.

Game Informer's massive Grand Theft Auto 5 cover story goes live later today. However, we've already been given a look at the cover, which reveals the open world adventure's three main protagonists. Los Santos promises to be the "biggest open world Rockstar has created to date," so no wonder you'll want to assume multiple characters to see them all.
